  1. I am currently interviewing for a CICU position at a top Children's Hospital. This would be a step up for me from my current adult ICU job at a community hospital. However, my goal is to travel within the next two years, and I'm not sure how many positions are available in peds CICU, especially in this crappy economy. Travelers, do these jobs exist? Also, if I move on to peds, I will have about 17 months in the adult ICU....would I be able to look for travel positions in both areas? I'm guessing the PCICU jobs would keep me in major cities, and adult jobs would put me in more rural areas.
  2. Yeah, I have heard of travelers with pets finding nice month to month rentals off of craigs list. I don't mind a longer commute as I drive 45 mins. to work as it is (the price for living in the woods). With RV parks or campsites--is it ok to leave dogs inside RV and head out in the car? I know with tent and cabin camping you usually can't leave dogs unattended, but I've never stayed any place for more than a week. Thanks so much for the responses...
  3. I thought about finding my own rentals on sites like www.homeaway.com, which lists pet friendly places. Those are usually like $2000-$3000 a month though. Would the housing stipend cover a place like that?
  4. Hi travelers... I have been dying to get into traveling for as long as I can remember, and have been speaking with various agencies. There is just one thing holding me back...I have four dogs, three between 50-70 lbs. Am I crazy to even think we can do this? We rent vacation homes with the dogs without a problem, and I would be bringing my husband along, who would be at home as a freelance writer. However, I am concerned that I would not be able to find housing (and that this might allow me to not be flexible enough in a difficult economy!). I have thought about the possibility of buying an RV and doing it that way. Any thoughts or suggestions? I am a critical care nurse, hopefully in higher demand.
