  1. Thanks bobby! It's really helpful. I'll consider transferring to the OR then. But I'll try my luck in March since we'll all be in the UK for a vacation. But if nothing materializes, then I'd go back with my family to the Philippines. :)
  2. Hi helloimdee and wolvie, I'm currently in the same dilemma. Have you found a sponsor for the supervised practice placement yet? I'm still in the Philippines as of the moment, but will be leaving in a few months. I'm about to take the IELTS and pass it to NMC... hopefully I get the feedback before we all leave for the UK. I'm afraid I wouldn't find a sponsor for the ONP which could leave me unemployed. What do you think is my best option? I'm a British citizen but has trained and worked in the Philippines as a nurse. Hope you could shed some light on this matter. Thank you!:)
  3. I have a question... I'm a British citizen who studied and worked as a nurse in the Philippines. I already worked as an ER nurse here in the Manila. I am about to take my IELTS so that I can register in the NMC. My question is... will it be easy to find a university/hospital where I could have my ONP? I'm a little worried that when we move back to England this March, I would have a hard time looking for a centre or hospital for the ONP which means I wouldn't be able to work as a nurse in UK... please shed some light on this. Thank you so much! :)
  4. Hi! I've read this thread and I'm getting more worried by the second. I just hope somebody could help me in giving insights about my current situation. It would really be helpful. I'm half- Filipina and half-British so I carry both citizenships. I decided to go back to school to study Nursing here in the Philippines. But when I checked the NMC requirement, I still need a year experience where I trained to be registered. But my family is deciding to move back to the UK. Is there any chance I could practice my profession in the UK without my 1-year experience here? ... or could I enroll in a short course related to nursing in the UK so I could get registered with NMC? What course and where would you suggest... Another is, if I do take the longer path, and wait for a year here in the Philippines before I register... do I still need an IELTS exam even if I am a British citizen since birth? Thanks. I'm really hoping to get answers. :)
  5. Thanks a lot! :)
  6. Hi! I'm a nurse in the Philippines. I was born in England but raised here (Philippines), so I carry both citizenship. I was hoping to move back to England after a long time. After checking the NMC requirements, I found out I still need to finish my one year of experience here. Is there a possibility that I could get my NMC papers approved if I go back to England without finishing my 1 year experience? And do I still need to take my Ielts exam even if I'm a British citizen? Could I also register for NMC in UK even if I didn't study there? I'm really hoping I could get some answers. Thanks so much! :) Maria B.
