  1. I think this is the main thing that has prevented me from sending in my stuff already. While I still need to work out all the financial details (exactly how much I'll need to borrow over the next 3 years), I have come at it from the perspective of a former pre-med, so I was always expecting to go into debt anyway. I'm hoping that I can live frugally enough for the first few years as an NP so I can pay off my debt quickly, after which I think I'll be very happy with my salary as an NP. I've thrown around the idea of going to a community college to get my RN and reapplying to the regular MSN program, but I'm so happy to be assured a spot now, and the more quickly I become an NP, the more quickly I will be making the salary of an NP, so it's likely that I'll just do it and hope it all turns out for the best. I hope my perspective is justified... I guess I'll find out!
  2. Congratulations and happy birthday amalay! See you in the fall!
  3. I got into Peds!!! I had been avoiding this thread all day, so the call was a total surprise. SO SO SO excited! Beyond words. I'm excited to meet you all (who have wonderful senses of humor) in the fall!
  4. Congratulations those of you that got in!! Lolamac - I'm in the midwest too. I'll be hoping to see your name pop up soon and I'll try not to drive too fast to get home. I am planning on tomorrow or Friday (as if that will help).
  5. Thanks for keeping us updated east-coasters. And I'm glad that I'm not the only one being unproductive at work... it's only Tuesday and it feels like this week has gone on FOREVER, and yet I have gotten very little done. And to add to the birthday wishes - happy birthday very soon amalay!
  6. Part of me feels like I have a better chance of getting in if I obsessively check this message board... so I think we're all in good shape . Here's to hoping that the Chicago mail system doesn't let me down this week. They don't have the best reputation for timely delivery... :-/
  7. I have been having trouble sleeping because of this! I can't believe they won't send out physical letters until next week - I might have to fly to New Haven today to pick mine up . My husband just found out he got into Yale (different grad program), so I am waiting both for a decision about school and about whether or not I have to live apart from him for the next year. It's driving me crazy!
  8. Tanya - this is hilarious! I totally agree. I've gotten responses fro UVA, UT Austin and Johns Hopkins. I'm finding it hard to concentrate on anything else right now! Good luck to everyone.
  9. Hi Everyone, This is my first time posting here. I have an interview on the 27th and I'm flying in on the 26th. Is anyone else flying into New Haven from Pennsylvania then? Thanks!
  10. Wow - thank you so much for your thoughtful responses. You've given me some great perspectives as I start on my applications and my future career.
  11. Hello! I was wondering if there was anyone out there who wanted to be a doctor (MD or DO) but became an NP instead. If so, how do you feel about your decision? Thank you!
