  2. thank you for your reply! :-)
  3. hi silverdragon , thank you.....yeah I realise I would need to go back to school and also take the exam, just trying to figure out how much schooling and costs etc to see if its something I really want to do. Scared to pay all the money and not enjoy it....so confused!! ;-)
  4. thanks for replying! I remember chatting with you on the boards 5 years ago about the US! Hope you are enjoying Canada ;-)
  5. I wanted to meet George Clooney....haha I dreamed of working in the ER and it being just like ER (on tv!!) I went to nursing school when I was 19 and graduated 3 years later (3 year condensed course in the UK). I worked for 2 years on a surgical floor then I took the nclex and planned on moving to the states with an agency which fell through (I still moved with my husband and lived their for 3 years but not working) and now have been in Canada for 2 years......have not nursed in 5 years and wondering if I should get back into it! :)
  6. I was the same.....but I survived two years of post grad nursing and I got better each day. But now I have been out of nursing for 5 years and wondering if to go back and all the nervous, shyness has come back especially as I am in a new country! Stick with it....you will do fine and your confidence will grow :)
  7. that's scary, well done for listening to your gut. I think I would have done the same thing. Good luck :)
  8. hello! I am in Alberta and wondering if I would like to get back into nursing? I have no idea what nursing is like in Canada (from the UK) and was wondering if anyone knew if there was work experience where you see how things work? I am not sure if that is what it is called in Canada, but I would love to shadow people in different specialities and just see what it is like, if it is similar to England etc just to observe not doing anything as no license etc here. Just was wondering if any nurses have had people like this or high school students? Any input greatly appreciated thanks.
  9. erm maybe because I have lived in Canada for about 30 days and have moved house twice in that time, plus Christmas etc...I have not nursed in 3 years also so I know nothing about nursing anywhere either! Hence why i asked the question on here where people know!
  10. thanks....well guess I won't be nursing then...have to find a new career!! What to do, what to do!
  11. Thank you....I shall look into the links. I am in Alberta. Thnks
  12. Hi All I used to be a member here several years ago, was meant to be relocating with an agency to USA and it all fell through! Anyways I was a registered nurse (Diploma) in the UK and worked for two years. I passed the Nclex and moved to the USA for 3 years...I did not work there. I am now a permanent resident of Canada. I never kept up my license in the UK and have not worked as a nurse for over three years now. I do not know if I want to still be a nurse but I am not quite sure what else to work as at the moment! If I did want to nurse again, what would I need to do to be a nurse in Canada please? Thank you
