This is for anyone who have received the award in previous years. How easy is it to receive authorization to transfer? Does it have to be a big reason because I intend on moving to another state for better nurse opportunities. There are several DSH where I reside; however, they won't let new grads in so I need a change so I can utilize all of my BSN skill LOL! Oh yeah thanks for all your feed back and please don't post what it says in the terms because I have already read it but would like to know if authorization for transfers is easy.

Thank you so very much! I am excited about this one Got a little nervous though because I already turned in my paper application and thought I did the same for the online portion; however, I didn't so I will be sending the paper documents out tomorrow and officially sending it online. I can't believe those people at the call center. They need to be trained better but the guy told me he was the chief financial officer? Oh well, life goes on and thanks a million!

To be honest, I have no idea and I was also a little upset (understatement) LOL! That is what they told me and also my friend who didn't believe me but she did when she also spoke with a cheif financial officer who told her the same thing. Maybe next year if any of us have to reapply they will decide to post it. Call them tomorrow though for your own sanity and let me know if you here of anything new, which I surely don't believe you will. Good luck again sedietsch!

Call the hrsa call center and they will tell you that it does not qualify. I also got to speak with a cheif financial officer who does the loan stuff when they come in and they specifically told me this. If you would like give it a try but the loans will not count. Trust me if they did I would surely have put that on as well for my qualifying loan debt. The reason why cosigned loans don't count is because the coborrower/cosigner is stating that if you don't pay, they will. This is what I was told not what I am just popping off with off of the top of my head. If you hear of anything otherwise feel free to let me in what you find out on that. Good luck sedietsch :)

Thanks, I know I was two days off now but I am shipping it off today! But I know some where in that information packet it does say if anyone else is on your loan it is ineligible. So with that being said a cosigner is a coborrower, who agrees that if you don't pay they will take on your debt so that is why it doesn't count. I have just decided to roll with the punches on this one. I know I sound hopeful and I should be right? I am optimistic in everything I do so I won't be a pessimist in this area.

All of that is on the NELRP website which you should take a look at. I really hope you have already started the application, because a lot of the documentation can take several weeks to be sent to you and since we have until march 2nd to send it through that wouldn't give you enough time to ship it all out.

yes i don't know and sometimes the people at the call center may not know what the heck they are talking about. i just have to keep on praying for the best. but i just wanted to know what funding preference you were? not you kiky but the one was said she didn't get it due to it being a lottery?

Oh I see and I wasn't trying to be rude so please forgive me if I offended you. I was told that by the hrsa call center. I asked them if I was to receive the award and wanted to amend for a third year could I if I consolidate but needed or had a cosigner and they told me know. So of course I followed up with them the following and asked a different question. I asked them are loans that I had where a cosigner was needed still eligible and the guy told me: "hold on that's and iffy question" and came back on the phone after putting me on hold to tell me know so I guess that sucks for me. I still have a descent ratio and I am depending on the Lords favor for this one. I don't know any past recipients told different? Please inform me and everyone else what you all know

Hhm? That sucks, they made it seem like they keep going until all the money runs out, starting from those in the first funding preference category. Were you in the first funding preference and are you gonna apply again?

Wow kiky 87! that is a huge number I am gonna assume you have you have your MSN or Doctorate in nursing for such a high number? Anyways, I know what you mean it is a pain in the neck. I just think it sucks because I can't count my loans where a cosigner was needed But it that's okay and doesn't matter because I rest assured that the Lord is gonna make something great happen for me. I am also worried about making any errors on the forms because I want to get funded for all the Loans I send into them.

"Due to the inclement weather, hrsa is not able to answer the phone" GEESH this is so annoying

I would really like to know this as well Nakeliku. My debt to income ratio is 173% and I am also in the first funding preference so I hope it all goes well for both of us :) Where do you live? I reside in Minnesota and left a job where I was making 30$ an hour and another job that I picked up shifts at for extra cash just to go to a nursing home, which really sucks so I am praying to the lord that he finds this in my favor. I am happy that I can chat with others that are going through this crazy process as well it makes me feel a little relieved. If you find any leads on this question please post them.

NELRP 2010
Are you first funding preference? If so then I believe you would be a shoe in, otherwise I don't think your chances are good. Only first preference has received funding through the previous cycles.

I have been reading the post and now I am a little confused. I have about 48,000 dollars, which I owe to sallie mae so are you saying that sallie mae loans are not considered. I believe they said supplemental student loans are accepted, so please tell me more about what loans do and don't qualify for funding because otherwise I am bound to go crazy
