Take my test in 2 weeks, haven't really studied. chances?
I didn't study very much at all, I worked a lot. But I did read one nclex like book it was called the "pearls of nursing". I read most of that it has every sort of subject med/surg, peds, ob, psych, etc. Just remember your ABC's and prioratize patient care, thats the most important thing in school and in real nursing life. Don't cram to much, you only retain so many things anyway when you do cram. I had 75 questions on my Nclex and passed the first time. I was so sure I was going to fail because I have ADD and I can't sit still to study, I am a good listener and can remember through letcutre and learning. THe pearls of nursing was straight forward, it was a question followed by the answer, which helpe dme cause i would read the info and not have to get boggled with all this useless, false info. Good luck!

Quality
Thanks for the input, very helpful. Our office is going through a lot of changes right now. They are thinking about cutting one of the nurse positions due to lack of funds because it is a grant clinic, things need to get get better organized so we can keep up with patient flow and everythng else, because one nurse will not be able to handle all the things we do.

Quality
I just started working at a family practice clinic. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about: How appointments are scheduled at your place: how long is allowed for New patient: Established patient: Well woman: Well Child: Med refill: Biopsy: Walk-ins'. Lab draw: The RN's do all their own lab draws, we have to spin them down and then a courrier comes and gets them everyday. So when the provider orders labs we do it right after they are done in the room with them, then this seems to get us behind on the rest of the schedule. We are scheduled to see a patient every 20 minutes, thankfully there are some no shows because the charting and ICD9 codes take a lot of time. also.. what quality controls do you have to do for the equipments (do you have to run control on the autoclave and how often?) In our procedure room the old nurse put needles in the cupboards for easy access, they are not locked up, so anyone could get to them if they just looked in the cupboard. We have not had problems with this, but it could be one if somene found out. Do you have poicy about keeping needles locked up or out of patient rooms? Where do you order your medical supplies from and are you responsible for your ordering or does someone else take care of that? Thanks for any input. Also any tips for a new office nurse would be great :)

Chamberlain College of Nursing....
I am currently taking courses through the Chamberlain college of nursing. The staff is very well organized about calling and answering questions. THe classes are very interactive, the work is not that hard, you know the whole semester in advance what your homework is going to be and the professors are very quick at responding and helping you out. THe classes needed for the bachelors are all laid out and put into a table for you so you know which ones you need to take. I really like it, and the NO CLINICALS is what sold me on this program. THe program were I got my ASN requires 180 clinical hours per semester, if you think about it that is a lot of time you have to work for free instead of at your job, and the little extra tuition cost is totally worth that, I think I came out ahead with taking the class instead of taking time off work to do clinicals.
