  1. Well I'm married with two little ones, but there are girls in the program that are rooming together and it seems to be working for them. Besides, I would love to have someone who lives under the same roof who is going through what I'm going through. You would always have someone to quiz you and to study with. There are nice apartments across from the campus and they are really affordable. The one I'm thinking of are The Flats at Kernan. But there are others, I would just use google maps or something like that or search for apartments around that area, but I live on Southside and it is a really short drive and there are tons of places on southside.
  2. Basically once your at the interview they no longer care about your GPA and TEAS. It's up to your personality to shine through and convince them you know how much hard work nursing is and that you will have to touch poop and blood ect. and that nursing is more than just "helping people". I just made sure I had some prepared answers before I went. Like "What qualities do you think a nurse should possess?", ect. Oh! I also had an ethical question which tested what I would do in a hypothetical situation. Good Luck!!!! But I would stop stressing about GPA and TEAS because now they don't matter. Just make sure you dress professionally and have some one conduct a mock interview with you because it will help calm your nerves! Besides the people in the interview are all so nice:)
  3. Hi MACW, Here is a link about the interview process at UNF. This link is for the article abstract, I was able to find the whole article online. It explains the process and what they are looking for. Basically just be yourself and have a good idea of what a nurse really does. I hope this helps! http://www.aornjournal.org/article/S0001-2092(07)00622-9/abstract
  4. Hi, I'm currently in my first week of the Traditional Track BSN program at UNF. My GPA was a 3.70 and my prereq GPA was a 3.9. Also, I don't think they place as much emphasis on your GPA as they do your interview and TEAS score. I mean, you want it to be high but if you have a 3.5 or higher and a good TEAS score you should get an interview. They typically invite twice as many people to the interview as they accept. I got an 84% on my TEAS and my friend got a 78% and she made it in. If you are going for the Regular track just be aware that the people who apply for the accelerated can also be offered a traditional spot. I didn't know that, but I also was not eligible for the accelerated track and still got a spot.
  5. I just got my acceptance letter for Summer 2010 UNF traditional track BSN:yeah:Just wanted to meet those of you who will be in my class! Can't wait to start, and congrats to those of you who were accepted, what a lot of hard work it has been:)
  6. Hi, I was in the 10:30 group, and Beth told us she would be mailing the letters this afternoon (Tuesday) before she goes on spring break. The college does not want any calls until a week from this friday, allowing two weeks for the mail delivery. I think the interviewers said one month just to be safe. I think we should have a letter by this friday or saturday, HOPEFULLY! Good Luck:^)
  7. Congrats! :) What time is your interview? My interview is at 10:30, I'm going to be a nervous wreck! Good Luck!
  8. Hi itsjlarious, My GPA is 3.89 and my teas is 84.1%, I just got my interview letter today!!! I'm so excited, did you get one?
  9. Well good luck!! Hopefully we both get in, I'm living in Jacksonville, FL right now and I have applied to UNF and I think their nursing program is a little easier to get in to, but they have a big interview session and that weights heavily on your admission. Either way, I'm hoping for Sac because I'm from there, and I want to move back!!!
  10. Cheezn4life, how many points do you have? I know the cutoff for spring was 74, but they only took continuing CSUS students. I hope the cutoff is somewhere around there, but considering they didn't take any students for Spring, I'm sure it will be higher:^(
  11. Hi Brighten, Yeah, I'm applying for the work experience, economic and disadvantaged high school optional criteria. Overall I have 77 pts. I have one B and it really brings down your points! If you have a 4.0, that's 50 pts. and with your TEAS, you should get accepted. Thanks for the kind words! I posted this tread on the CA nursing programs board but only got one reply.
  12. Hello, I was wondering if anyone has applied for the traditional BSN program at CSUS? I have a 3.89 GPA and an 87.1 on the TEAS, but I'm still freaking out about whether or not I will make it. Just curious if anyone is in the same boat? Thanks!
  13. Hello, anyone apply to the UNF Summer BSN regular track? What is your TEAS and GPA? Does anyone have any interview advice? I'm patiently waiting to hear if I got an interview. Just wondering if anyone was in the same boat. Thanks!
