  1. BPediRN posted a topic in Nurses Recovery
Hi, I'm new here. Here's my story: I have been working as a nurse for a few years. I recently was suspended for Marijuana use outside of work. I am a very infrequent user (once every other week for about 2 months). Unfortunately, someone who has personal issues with me made an anonymous complaint. I was suspended, referred to the EAP (employee assistance program) and the IPN. I have my assessment visit tomorrow with the IPN doc. My only comfort at this point is that there are other nurses that I know personally that work for my facility that were busted for diverting and self using meds (Fentanyl, morphine, etc...) they were put through the IPN and are still working as nurses in the hospital. My question is: what can I expect? And, how long before I'm back to work? I know that it depends on the recommendation from the doc tomorrow, but I just wanted to get the perspective from some of you that might have been through this already. Thanks
