Where in the east valley do you mean?

I was researching Scottsdale, AZ for place of residence. It's about 25 miles from phoenix and looks amazing. Any suggestions on apartments that are nice, but not outrageously expensive? And any recommendations on places to work, preferably nicu or labor and delivery but i don't know if they would hire a new grad... Any information would be helpfull. Also is it a good idea to take spanish courses?

i believe this is why you should work as an aide before hand, coming from an aide myself we don't always get treated with respect from fellow nurses and it makes our jobs even more stressfull and teamwork isn't great which then reflects on patient care. The nurses that have worked as an aide have better understanding at what it's like and help out a lot more. Plus, there are basics that you would think they would teach in nursing school but don't, tricks you learn that can help you not only through out nursing school but when you are working as a nurse. I start nursing school in two weeks and i'm so glad that i have experience as an aide first but it isn't something you have to do but i highly recommend it, at least prn or pt... so you get a feel of it. And from my experience i reccomend hospitals before a nursing home, nursing homes are rough and very demanding and as a nursing student you'll learn more in hospital. Good luck to you!!!

I am a new nursing student! I just joined the student nurses association and was wondering what exactly is involved! I've tried to ask fellow students and graduated students and all they have said is that they just have meetings about things they can plan and it looks good on your resume, but there has to be more to it than that!! Anyone know about this?

It is not my dedication that i am worried about or my capabilities of being an amazing nurse- this i already know. I am concerned about what actions to take from here on out. I have never drove and drank before this occurance and am thankfull i was stopped because who knows what could have happened if they didn't. I got this dui before being accepted, not making this ok i am just saying. I have not drank since the occurance not because of my acceptance but because it scared the hell out of me. I do not wish to hear about what i should have done or how horrible my decision was this i already know. So if you have any suggestions about what I can do now, or what states are stricter or any advice i would appreciate it. Any opinions or judgemental comments i do not want to hear please and thank you. i appreciate any helpfull comments.

i'm glad i am not the only one; however, mine was aggravated and i just got accepted into the nursing program. I start in august. They do a backround check on us this friday i have not been charged with a dui yet however am in the process and i as you have a lawyer but not looking too hopefull as i have an aggravated charge- i blew above a .15. This is an incredibly scary process for me as i am not typically this way either. I hate how other people judge just because you made a mistake i know many individuals who make bad choices every day they just don't get caught... I have not drank since my dui and i believe everything happens for a reason- not sure why in this case but maybe the officers stopped me just in time... who knows but mistakes don't define who you are... a dui is when you have a bac of anything higher than .08, and aggressive dui is when you blow anything above .15 i blew a .249 which was also an hour after i was actually driving but it is extremely high... like i said the worst decision i ever made in my entire life... I was obviously not in the condition to make that decision accurately...

I am in the process of recieving a dui, not just a regular dui but an aggressive dui. There is an error in my report so I am PRAYING that it can be dropped but i highly doubt it. Besides the emotional punishment I am going through based on my horrible decision... I will forever have this on my record and this is not typical behavior for my part. I am extremely worried as I just got accepted into the RN program here and this has been something I have wanted to do since i became a CNA 6 years ago. I have no officially been charged with a DUI; however, it is very likely. I am wondering how this will affect my state boards and finding a job. I believe if I take probation that it will give me the chance to prove that I learned my lesson and that it will never happen again as opposed to taking jail time. I was also under the understanding that some states are a lot more strict as far as this issue goes and was wondering if anyone knew any information at all about what this all entails. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
