Average registered nurse wages in Indy
Hello, I posted earlier w/ no response. Can anyone on this forum tell me what experienced nurse wages are (on average) for the Indianapolis area? I have 7+years of experience in acute care hospital nursing (RN). I am considering a move to the area, but I am not sure the wages here can sustain my current quality of life. Thanks in advance for any response.

Maybe moving to Indy
Hello, I might be moving to Indy soon. I was wondering if anyone could share any insight regarding working for Clarian Health, such as whether they do 8 or 12 hr shifts, the work environment there, etc. What kind of pay could an experienced (7 yrs) RN expect in this area? What is the best neighborhood for younger professionals w/ no kids? Any information would be appreciated. I grew up in Indiana, but have been away for a long time. Thanks so much.

RN Opportunities in Indiana?
I used to live in Evansville, 2 hrs south of Bloomington. Wages there are low, but I don't know where you are coming from comparatively. Nurse/patient ratios are generally pretty high in IN. Bloomington probably has better diversity than Evansville, which had very little. Last I heard in 2007, Evansville hospitals were offering 19-20$ per hour before shift differentials for 3-4 yrs of experience nursing. I think the wages might be slightly better in Bloomington, but I have never worked there. Indy probably pays the best, with the best working conditions (academic hospitals).

Pay range and nurse/pt ratios for Vanderbilt Med surg RNs
Greetings, I am an AD prepared nurse w/ close to 7 yrs experience in med/oncology/tele/surgical etc. I am thinking about moving to Nashville, which is closer to where my family lives. I have worked as a traveler for several different teaching hospitals. Currently working as full time charge RN for a med/tele floor in WA state. Make close to 40$/hr after shift diffs. Wondering what the pay scale for someone with my exp. would be at Vanderbilt in Nashville in the med-surg area. I have read 18-19$/hr for new grads in other threads, which is not encouraging at all. Also, I am wondering what the average nurse to patient ratio is at Vandy for M/S. I am actually more worried about this than pay, as I have done 1:10 before in Indiana, and it was horrible. It is usually 1:4 or 1:5 for M/S in western Washington. Any input about Vandy or nearby hospitals would be very helpful. Thanks!
