NCLEX test is Bull, nonstandardized, Cr*p
Hi, I'm sorry you feel so frustrated. Chin up!:) I recently took the NCLEX-RN Exam. I am from Toronto, Canada and I studied for 3 months and took NCLEX classes and reviewed and reviewed and then some more review!:rotfl: When I walked out of the exam, I had the full 265 questions, I felt like I failed for sure and big time!!! However, due to my big & pleasant surprise, I PASSED!:balloons: They say if you walk out of the exam feeling confident and good about the exam, you've failed. If you walk out of the exam feeling like crap, you've passed. It does hold true. The first time I sat for it, about 7 years ago, I came out of there feeling pretty good and sure enough, I failed. This past May, I came out of it feeling like crap, and I passed it!:balloons: Your wife does not have to wait 4 weeks for the results. You can get your 'unofficial' results 2 ways: via phone: $7.95 and via net: $9.95. Considering that the state you applied for your license is taking part in this process. All of this info should be in your NCLEX guide. You can obtain the results within 2-3 business days. I cannot speak for the format itself. It does seem rather unfair that they would pose such questions when they require knowledge, skill and judgment of a different scope:o Chin up and think positive! Alex

Canadian nursers leaving to work in the USA.
I totally agree with you. If the gov't or your employer doesn't do anything to retain you, why stay? Moving on up to the east side! No sympathy here either sister:rotfl:

Canadian nursers leaving to work in the USA.
It is a very very disheartening fact that more and more nurses are leaving to work in the US, even today, 2004! This is due to the fact that our healtcare system does not recognize advanced practice nursing soon enough. We are behind the times. I am an RNFA that's unemployed at this time. There are several offers in the US for this position. Why would one waste the expanded/advanced education here in CAnada? when it can be put to actual clinical/practical use elsewhere? $$$ & weather are factors here too. I am very frustrated and angry that I am not able to practice here in Canada. I love Canada! Oh, Canada!

what's your suggestion? RPN student needs advice.
By all means...please do! If you don't do it now, when you are young and your brain is still looking to absorb knowledge, you will later. I recently completed my RNFA program, last August, and I am thirty something...furthering yourself is always an advantage to you and your career. Good Luck! Alex
