  1. Workin nights tonight (23rd) then 1500-2300 24th and 1900-0330 or 1500-2300 (my choice) the 25th! Sacrificing most family gatherings, only get to attend 1/4. I just want to take all gifts back and forget this xmas ever occurred. Only xmas I'm looking forward to is the one with my mom, dad, bro, and sis! HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON EVERYONE! KJ
  2. I'm from Iowa and go to school at Kirkwood Community College. I just finished my first semester and start back January 11th. I'm looking forward to focusing more next semester as first semester I was touring to a lot of shows all over the US for the Celtic Thunder Street Team and my husband was at ARMY training so I was home alone. I'll be honest: I've said since Junior High that I wanted to be a nurse and now I think I'd rather be in the music industry but this is how the cookie crumbles and with this economy I need to have something to fall back on...nursing it is! I've worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Children's Hospital of Iowa since 2007 and LOVE IT! First semester for me was dealing with disease processes in the elderly and my clincals was in a LTC facility. I'm looking forward to getting OUT OF GERIATRICS this semester and working with PEDS AND OB! Can't wait! Take Care and Good Luck...those of you just starting ENJOY YOUR FREE TIME BECAUSE ONCE YOU START NURSING SCHOOL THAT'S A SACRIFICE YOU HAVE TO MAKE TO DO WELL. I refused to give up my tour dates and barely passed because I didn't study at all SO WORK HARD EVERYONE AND HAVE AN AWESOME SEMESTER! KJ
  3. I have the Nursing Diagnosis book by Ackley. It's very useful! As a nursing student just completing my first semester I totally understand that Nursing Diagnoses are hard to get a handle on.
