How has the job hunt gone? I just finished my first day of orientation at my new job. I am a fresh new grad making monies in the high 50's. I am very happy to be employed right now!

Gallup Nurse Insight Assessment?
I actually just took this test this morning. Pretty much seems to be a kind of personality tester. I remember having to do some of these when I was in High school for jobs. Its basically scoring you on your personal traits and if it matches the employers minimums, you can a call.

Join the club I guess, I graduated June of last year and finished my Nclex and got my license last month. Applied for about 20 jobs and haven't even gotten a interview call yet.... Just wait everyone will call you in a month all at once. At least that's what Im hoping.

Hi from IL newest RN!
I think I may just break down and even go to a long term care facility to work. Ive heard ALOT of horror stories, and my instructors even told me to stay away from there. I guess its at least a job and ill be able to put some kind of experience on my resume! What do you guys think? Hold out for a nice hospital job or grab the first opportunity that comes along and just keep looking for another job?

Hi from IL newest RN!
Hey guys, have been lurking on here since I started nursing school two years ago. I Guess its finally time to say hello. Graduate from Triton, I passed my boards on 2/25/10 a week or so ago. Seems the job market around Chicago Sucks! Every posting I see online on either career builder or monster requires 1 year of experience. Its not that I am picky, god I will even work in cook county any day, time or shift, just not peds or OB. How are you guys managing in these tough economical times?
