  1. Alright ~ How hard is basic training really?? My boyfriend joined the Army back in 1999 and said it was the hardest thing he's ever done, and he's in excellent shape and was a year out of highschool. I'm in good shape, occasionally I'll run a mile, or rollerblade a few miles, but i know there'd be no way I could ever run six miles, i'd probably die, lol, seriously. Anyway, I guess I just am wondering what women do in basic training. It can't be the same as the men right??? Jamie
  2. I don't even know if I still want to be a nurse, eh, that's why i was wondering about radiology or animal care in the army. Every does tell me to stick with it though :-) Jamie

My dad just got a full body scan, [$1250 ]. He's been a firefighter for 20 years and contaminated more times than I can remember. His fire gear has even been taken away in 55 gallon drums. He's been getting sharp pains in his left lung every so often and thought he probably had lung cancer (from smoke, etc. from the fires). Anyway, the scan came back perfect, there was nothing detected in any organs. They check bone density too, also exceptional. Anyway, I was wondering how accurate these scans really are? He feels like he got ripped off (haha) because they didn't find anything. Jamie
  4. I've completed 2.5 years of nursing school so far, and I'm taking this semester off. Now that I'm not in school I'm starting to question if i really want to be a nurse of not. The navy nurse recruiter has been up my butt for quite a while trying to get me to enlist [she's the nicest woman though :) ]. anyway now i'm thinking about enlisting in the army, i'm interested in 91P (radiology specialist), or 91 Tango (animal care specialist). My boyfriend is getting deployed to Afghanistan within the next few weeks for at least a year and I think it would be good for me to get away for a while and concentrate on something. If anyone has any advice for me or knows anything about these MOS's please let me know! Thanks so much. Jamie
