  1. Happy New Year Maryjanefine! Thank you! You've provided me with valuable info on the program. For some reason I was under the impression I would be in school the entire day-from morning to evening-mon thru fri. I see it will be more like a fulltime job while still allowing me to spend some time (although very limited-I'm sure) time with my family. I really hope I get accepted for the 2011 cohort (fingers crossed). Again, thank you for being such a wonderful resource...I hope the new year brings you much joy and success!
  2. Thank you for your post Maryjanefine! I'm so happy to hear that although difficult, the degree is doable. Thankgoodness, I also have a supportive husband. One quick question, at what time do classes start and finish usually? I want to make sure I have my son's drop off and pick up times from daycare covered... I'll look into the tuition waiver since I plan to quit my current job... Thanks a million!
  3. Hi! Yes, it would be so helpful to hear others' experience w/ the program. All the best to you!
  4. Thanks so very much for your response!!!! I will go ahead and register (if that's even possible at this point) and feel so much more prepared because of you!
  5. Hello Jersey Girl! Thanks so very much for this info. I wanted to know about the course load...I'm currently working f/t and have a toddler. Do you think this course is doable? I plan to enroll for the Spring 2010 semester. Thanks again!
  6. Hello all! I was wondering if there were any New Jersey City Univerity (NJCU) nursing students or grads out there that can share their experience with the accelerated (12 month) BSN program at Jersey City, NJ. I really want to make sure I can handle this fast-track program. I would be making many personal (not to mention financial sacrifices) IF I were to be accepted. My biggest concern is that I have a 2 year old son and am afraid of not being able to have any time with him. How demanding is this program? I would so very much appreciate your opinions on this.... Thanks!
  7. Thank you for your response. I actually have a Physical Therapy background and the only prereqs I'm missing are Microbiology, Pathophysiology and Sociology... Since I've completed the majority of the prereqs I was hoping that certain schools would have the option of pre-admitting students as long as the prereqs were completed immediately. I'll see if I can complete these courses at a less expensive school or look into the possibility of taking them on-line. Again, thanks!
  8. Hello everyone, I am thinking of applying to an accelerated BSN program in Northern NJ or NY and have a question about prereqs. I received some information from Dominican College (in NY) and in their e-mail, it states that in order for my application to even be considered I would first need to complete the prereqs... Is this the norm for other nursing programs? I ask because I'm worried of spending so much money on these classes and then not getting into their program. Thanks so very much in advance! CJ
