Application advice- terminated in 2017
I was wanting to know if I should put I was terminated on a application and if so, should I explain? It was in 2017 when I was a PCT. It was labeled as a social media violation. I was in contact with a former patient who was an adult and her own guardian. It was a psych unit though and she was there for a suicide attempt. Her mom had recognized me in my profile picture on facebook because she seen me in the unit and called HR. The former patient was upset I got let go because she said even though she flirted with me on the unit I stayed professional. I knew it was on the line and I probably shouldn't have contacted her. I ended up not even hanging out with her because it didn't feel right being I lost my job over it. The rationale was also because being she was there for suicide she was a vulnerable population. I understand that. I am not re-hirable and couldn't do my clinicals at that hospital system. I was only there 7 months. It was a horrible experience and feel depressed at times if I think about. I've never been fired from a job and my coworkers valued me because I was a good team player and care for the patients. It didn't affect my CNA license because it was deemed a social media violation.

Desoto area
What kind of area are you used to living in? Do you prefer to live closer to work and in the city or do not mind driving a little. I know some people who move to Dallas and prefer a more laid back area will move to Waxahachie(South on 35 about 25 minutes South of Desoto) and do not mind driving about 30 or 35 minutes to work to Downtown (depending on traffic). Most people I know who have moved to Waxahachie has like it. It still has a lot of stores s has some historic buildings and homes, but to me has a small town feel. Seagoville or Terrell in about 20 of 30 minutes East on 20 (from Desoto) and is more rural area. But really places like Desoto, Duncanville, Grand Prairie, Oakcliff, Lancaster have pockets of good and bad areas. I would find places you like and check with the local police reports to get statistics for the area, and maybee talk to some neihbors. My wife and I live in Oakcliff, which has a repution of being bad. However the community we live in has a great neiborhood watch, security and police that work with us. I have seen the crime go down to barely nothing at all in the past few years. We had an incedent in the complex across the street but the police force came in and got the crack heads out. We do prefer to shop outside of Oakcliff because in many stores and resurants the employees act annoyed by your buisness and can be very rude. I have called several corporate offices complaining and have seen some change. We do not mind driving 15 minutes to Cedar Hill for more pleasant shopping.

Desoto area
I work in Desoto, and live about 5 miles north. It really depends where you go in Desoto. To me though even the more rougher parts of Desoto are not too bad other than some not so freindly people.....but you will find friendly people as well. There are a couple of walmarts. There is one off 35 and beltline, and a newer one a few miles down beltline going towards 67. There is a kroger off pleasant run and 35 and some clothing stores, office store, a star bucks, some resturants and fast food chains. On hampton and pleasant run is probably the area I would avoid. Not that I would consider it dangerous, but I have came across a lot of rude and irrate people in that part of Desoto. The side of Desoto that is closer to Cedar Hill is nicer than the east side closer to 35, and there is a lot more shopping and community there in my opinion. I would not mind living in Desoto. If you need help when you get here contact me and I will be more than happy to help.
