  1. You would not think there is freeze by all the postings on the website...i have applied to many lpn postings and am even a former employee who left to move back home and all I get are rejection letters saying they have hired someone else. I have all the qualifications except the provincial lisence which I would obtain no problem if I had an offer.
  2. Everyone is different with their studying habits. I flew through school with flying colours and studied for 2 weeks for the exam and studied a borrowed prep guide. If this was me 10 years ago.. it probably would have been a different story. The exam did throw me for a loop though I found the exam similar to the guide only in format.. the rest..fuggedaboutit. And I believe the September exam is a new one compared to this past January and May. I could be wrong. All i did when reading the questions was tell myself.. think logically.. the answer is staring you in the face.Good luck!
  3. I believe it is the same for BC as well..I may be wrong. However, In AB they allow those with Temporary Licenses to continue to practice UNTIl their THIRD FAIL of the exam! In ON you fail the first time your temp is revoked until you pass. I feel this unsafe practice. Am i misinformed here? FIONA59..anyone.. is this true?
  4. i dunno i was ballparkin it..lol ok. so maybe 250.. anywho.. where did you find the 143 magic number? Just curious. :)
  5. out of the 230-odd questions? we only needed 143 of them right?
  6. I got back from the long weekend...and checked my mailbox....... I PASSED!! Relief is an understatement..as I am starting my new job tomorrow.. i knew that temp license would come in handy:) Congrats to all who passed!
  7. Yeah..mine will take extra..since its coming from Edmonton to ontario. I leave for the long weekend Thursday..I am either going to have a fantastic or horrible family day weekend
  8. I am in Ontario now... I wrote in Ontario --just moved back from Alberta..but I was educated in Alberta therefore I had the CLPNA organize for me to write in Ontario. So my results go to Ab..and AB mails them to me. CNO has NO idea of my marks until I pay the CLPNA 27$ for a form for them to send to Ontario stating I passed...or failed! So ya they do update the CNO site on a reg basis. The rep I talked to today said my name would show up by 3:30 and it did! He said he was just entering some info. I have been waiting for this temp license forever..wish it would have come sooner I would have been working at a job i have worked so hard to prepare for! Good luck!
  9. Well funny enough... i got my temp license today!!!Bittersweet cuz what if i fail my exam.. my temp license is gone! But my employer said they'd start orientating me starting Tuesday. Dear god i better not fail.. again good luck everyone!
  10. So I emailed the college of Nurses of alberta just to check my address with them to send my results and she said. "results are being mailed out next week".. eeeek. I bet they have them just sitting ready to go but wait till the 5th week to mail them. cruel. lol
  11. I am near Owen Sound and my check took one week to be completed. They say 2-3 weeks max. This is the OPP however and it may take longer if you are going through the city Police. Either way..good luck!
  12. oh and heads up ... I am a typo queen :) I'll try my best to improve!
  13. I am literally a week or two away form my Cprne results and the same for my temp license. It will only be useful to me if I pass. We shall see! fingers crossed. Nikkismom: what paperwork could you be waiting for?? There is only the police check.. your proof of identity and he temp application and proof of your education i believe. I too work as a psw right now until my temp license and it is driving me crazy. I graduated in June and I have all these skills that were fresh and the longer I go without practising them the more I fear doing them like as if it were the first time. Fiona-- I was living in Canmore up until August .. i miss that hospital.. I mustt admit I miss the 8.25 to work a night shift on the weekend too no nice pay diff's here back in Ontario!
  14. Well I have already paid for my temp license and they said that once I am eligible for my general class I jut pay the extra 52$. So dear god If I fail this exam..rewrite in May..pass that one i would only owe the 52$ ..they said as long as you have your temp license within the same calendar year. So pay the 250.. even if you lose that temp license you have still paid towards your general class as long as you pass this year. I am officially on freak out I dread going to the mailbox now. I heard if you fail it comes as registered mail .. my friend who passed in Sept said it is a thin envelope if you pass.EEK!! Good luck everyone..that WAS a hard exam!
  15. ah..i see. Thanks again for the info!!
