Thanks for the response!!!! so they have informed me at Kaplan that in order to get into the nursing program I need to first be a kaplan grad, at least have 6 months working in the med field, pass the TEAS and get at least a 24 on the SLE. So they suggessted that I do the CNA program which is a 2 month program and then work for 4 months then apply to the nursing program for sept 2010? Do you think that is a good path to take. Are you going into the RN program there. I think its weird that no other schools accept there prereqs and what not except university of pheonix, because I do want to get my BSN and eventually my Masters. UCSF has a masters program in which I can get my BSN from JFKU and then go into the masters program from there. I already have most of the preregs anyway from a comm college. But yes anyways whats you opinon on the program do you think its a good one? Thanks for your imput write back!

I am trying to decide if I should go into the Kaplan RN program and I need some advice!!!!! Is anyone out there a graduate of the program and if so can you give me some imput on it and how getting a job was and what not! Since you guys already have your BS degrees I would go for a Masters in Nursing, especially if your considering Kaplan you know its an expensive program. UCSF is one of the most prestigous medical schools in the country, and there is a program for those who have their BS in another major who want to become a Nurse. And this way you would be making WAYYYYY more money than with those who have just an ADN degree. Just my thought on thing, something that I wish to have done but I am getting my ADN because I do not have my BS. Hope this helped!

Hi! I just met with a counselor last week, I was informed that in order to get accepted into the program, 1. you needed to be a graduate of Kaplan, 2. You needed at least 6 months experience working in a hospital or direct patient care, 3. Needed to pass the SLE with a 25 and 4. at least a 75% on the TEAS..... so what he recommended to me was that I enter the CNA program at Kaplan thats a 2 month program and then I would work as a CNA for four months untill I would apply for the RN program that begins in Sept 2010. What do people think of this? Is this a good way to go? I really am just a little discouraged because I am getting so many different opinions on Kaplan and what not. If anyone could give me some advice or anything I would greatly appreciate it!

Hi All, I have been reading everyone's posts and what not, I am considering doing the 2month CNA program at Kaplan then going onto the RN program. I have heard so many positives and negatives about this program its making it really hard for me to decide what to do. After talking to my aunt who has her masters in nursing and it a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in Maine. She informed me that when you apply for a job as a nurse, they are not really looking at what school you graduated from at all, really they are looking for how well you did on your NCLEX, and if you have had previous hospital experience. I would really like to hear from some graduates of Kaplan and see how they feel about it. If anyone has some imput on the decison to do to the CNA and then to the RN program I would love some opinions. Thanks!
