  1. If I had been out of school for a year, I would personnally take a review course to help me remember things that I may have forgotten. I am not sure about if you can still take it or not. When I got my ATT it stated 2 dates that I had to test within or I think I would have had to re-apply for my ATT and pay more money. Hope this helps...and GOOD LUCK!!
  2. So Pearson Vue states that I have Passed BUT my board of nursing has not issued me a license number yet!! I dont know what could be taking so long! I cant fully celebrate until I have that license number---what if Pearson Vue is wrong? Hoping for a license number soon!! Good luck to all that have taken the exam and are waiting on results! :)
  3. I studied almost every day for a month. I used Kaplan review course and did everything they had to offer. Content videos, every single qbank question, and all question trainers. While i watched the content videos, I would write in the book that they ship to you and that made it alot easier to focus on what the instructor was saying instead of writing down EVERYTHING they were saying!
  4. SO that was the hardest test I have ever taken! I didnt know anything that it asked me. BUT i did the pearson vue trick and i got the "good" pop-up. Im REALLY hoping this is correct! I cant put myself through that anxiety again! Now its time to play the waiting game--should know something by wednesday! Thanks for all your support! :)
  5. thank you so much all of you!! your words have really helped me relax already and i got goosebumps when i read them. i have worked soooo hard for this and i am not going to let nclex get me down. good luck candaycee423. you can do this! :) i will let you all know how it goes.
  6. Literally freaking out right now, I am taking the NCLEX-RN on monday! I have done the Kaplan review. I did 100% of the Qbank questions--average was a 60%. Did all 7 question trainers and listened to all the content videos. I feel like I have studied as much as I can and I dont want to over study. I also have been told by a couple of people that Kaplan questions were harder than NCLEX and these people passed. Is this true? Is Kaplan harder than NCLEX? Basically just looking for words of encouragment right now!
  7. so i need some graduate nurse advice... i will be graduting in january and taking my boards in late january/early febuary. i currently have a full scholarship with the local hospital and have been told that the new grad program is under review and they are not sure when they will be putting positions up; my contract is legally binging and if i violate it i will owe around 10,000. my questions are....should i obtain certifications in acls and pals in the time that i have waiting to hear about a job? also, should i go ahead and try to obtain certifications in the specialty that i plan on entering after about a year on a med-surg unit? i plan on becoming a labor&delievery nurse...i love bringing babies into the world. for any l&d nurses out there, what are some certifications you would reccommend that a new grad nurse can get? thanks so much for any feedback! :) :redbeathe
  8. So I graduate in December and I am starting to look for places to obtain my BSN. I only have one requirement...it has to be completely online. I have a scholarship at the local hospital and I am required to work in my area for at least 2 years. I am looking to find out where the RN to BSN nurses obtained this degree. Also how did your credits transfer, around what price range was the tuition, and how were the classes as far as classwork? Also off the wall question--Does getting your BSN make you as a "magnet" nurse? Thanks for any information and advice. :)
  9. Thanks so much for all your replys. I did know that i will learn more than i ever learned in nursing school once i get into the "real" world. I guess its just being young and never having to fully be a grown up. Its all coming so fast. I have an amazing mentor already-my grandmother was a nurse for 23 years and just retired last april. She is amazing and sends me cards and little tokens to keep me going. Again thank you for all your replys and welcoming me to the nursing community!
  10. I am a Senior in my nursing program...we are an ADN program so I am coming to the end of my two year program. I graduate in December 2010. I am told by many instrutors that i am a great student and should have more confindence in myself. In clinicals, I am very confident at bedside and with patients, when it comes to connecting theory and practice I feel I do not know the information...I told my instrutor this and she stated that she had never seen that. *Basically, I am wondering if any other now RNs felt this way before they graduated? *How did you overcome this feeling of worry that you may not be as good as your instructors think you are? Is this just something that will go away with time, once i become an actual RN? Thanks for anyone that can help or give me some insigh t:confused:
  11. WOW..3 tries. we only get once then we have proficiency checkoff! But my entire class tries to remain calm and go in a remember that we know what we are doing. Try and get together with other classmates before your checkoff outside of lab time so that you can practice more. It really does help to have someone there watching so they can tell you what your doing wrong. Just remember...keep thinking positive and things work out ALOT better! Hope this helps somewhat.
  12. I am doing my care plan on a 39y female who has had uncontrolled DM and has developed Diabetic Neuropathy from this. I am using Chronic Pain for her priority nursing diagnosis. She always rates her pain at a 10 and says not even an hour later that her pain is at a 10 again. I have trouble with the outcomes...such as Client will by (certain time on a certain day) state that her pain has decreased from a 10 to at least a 6 on a scale of 0-10. I need at least 2 of these, i am fine with my interventions its just outcomes. If anyone can help that would be GREAT!! I will be checking back alot so if you need more information i can give it to you. This is due monday for me.
