  1. Yes....... i recently saw this new program in the WV Nurses newsletter........ I was suprised and excited to see this option. I was only courious as to why only Private colleges/universities are offering this program and NO public institutions are offering it? At any rate.... both schools are greatly appreciated by the LPN in both directions of the state to be giving the opportunity to advance our careers!..................... thanks for the post and the update............ P.s.......... im in semester 5 of ??????????? (8 i think) lolol but it is getting super rough right now......... GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. GOOD LUCK: I am in semester # 4, working full time 48 hours a week, and trying to keep up! :angryfire :angryfire I wish you the best of luck and you will feel like you wanna or :imbar sometimes, but so far it has been worth it. Just ALOT OF WORK TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck, and keep me posted on how things go for you through MSU! ERNURSE
  3. howdy gang: I must agree that I feel they are super fashionable, but also agree with the sanitary issue. Our hospital is trying to enforce the issue of not wearing scope covers. Infection controll evidently had a big issue with these , espeically the CRNAs in the OR (d/t sterility of the OR)........... I also agree that you should check with your hosptial protocol r/t this issue............ If you can wear them....... MAKE THEM FASHIONABLE! Make a STATEMENT!!!! Good luck, and hope the pattern works for ya! :roll
  4. hello gang: does anyone know of any excellent RFNA programs? Our hosptial system and one of the universities in town have collaborated to begin a program but it (program) just graduated its first class. Granit everyone passed their boards,,,,,,,, im still uneasy about this school because it is sooooooooooooo new. anyone know of any outstanding and reputitable programs to become a RFNA? Keep me posted! And thanks! :roll
  5. Yes.......... the course is EXPENSIVE because it is a private college. But............ there are many financial aid options. But hey....... if you want to do LPN - BSN, this is a great way to do it for WV LPNs... But the cost isnt as much as U.C. BUT EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. thank you so much. Our hospital as the competency for new grad RNs and because it is the same procedure, I just wonder why they (education dept) cant use the same information. We (staff) did get the IVF education in corporate orientation. Just wont let us stick. we are the only hospital in the area that doesnt let LPNS stick! ODD EH? Thanks for the info!
  7. hello: I am trying to help my nurse manager in persuing the idea of LPNs staring IVs in our hospital. I work in the ER and this would be a great place to "Pilot" a new program but i need some hard data, such as competencies, protocols, descriptions, etc. if any of you have any information about LPNS starting lines in your hospitals, please let me know which facility you work in, so i may call the human resources or professional nursing departments! thanks gang!
  8. HEY GANG: I am an LPN and I am currently working on my BSN. MOUNTAIN STATE UNIVERSITY in Beckley, (formerly College of WV) has the ONLY LPN-BSN program in the state but offers classes in many different cities. Charleston, Huntington, Parkersburg, Martinsburg, Beckley just to name some off the top of my head. I HIGHLY recommend this program.. i am almost completed and the TIME HAS FLOWN BY!............... You attend class ONLY ONE NIGHT A WEEK! it is geared for the FULL TIME LPN wishing to earn a BSN. check out the website at http://www.mountainstate.edu. The program is called "Spectrum Health" You can also call the 800 number on the web site and ask for Billy Stone. He is one of the directors for School of Distance and Extended Learning. HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!!!!!! TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS CHANCE! p.s. i am unaware of any ONLINE prograqms, but you can do a majority of your work online, but need to attend class every now and then. hope this helps and good luck!
