  1. Course, if by some strange coincidence you managed to miss the entire Austin Powers run - you might be thinking "What a wacko!" Just call me "Jane, BSN"! Woo Hoo - that types nice! Thanks for asking - I graduated last Thursday and will sit NCLEX next month hopefully. I have been working part-time as a Nurse Extern in the OR and have just had a verbal offer of a fulltime RN position to start in June. (I am thrilled - love the OR!) Haven't done much sailing of late (boo) boat had an altercation with the dock one stormy night and I have to replace ALL starboard stanchions. While I'm in a fixit mood - I think I'd like to add roller furling too...so many jobs, so little time! What about you - where are you at with your plans? Jane
  2. It's funny, I have been reading these boards for a few months and finally joined this morning and your post was one of the first I saw today. I too have the sailing bug and have trying to figure out how to incorporate the two things. I am graduating in May and hope to get into a specialty area and get some good experience under my belt. Then I would love to travel nurse while cruising. I looked at the jobs down in St Thomas, and St Croix and also the Fl hospitals on the coast along the way and I keep thinking that it's not impossible. I figured work a 13 week contract or two and then cruise for 13 weeks, work again for 13 - cruise for 13 and repeat until sick of it. Makes perfect sense to me - my hubby though is not quite as convinced...lol Good thing one of us is sensible though. Good luck to you, let us know if you decide to do it! Jane
