  1. Hello, I was just wondering if anyone on the boards is currently in the ADN program or graduated the program from ACC and how do/did you like it? I have heard some really good things about the nursing program at ACC. My only concern is that is looks like it is very hard to get in the program. Are there any other colleges in the Austin area that I should consider that maybe aren't as competitive or are the schools really hard to get into? I would like to go back to school and hoping to register for some of the prerequisite courses this summer. I graduated high school in 1993 and have been out of school since 1996. I'm a mother of 3 kiddos ages 3, 4.5 and 6.5. My husband and I moved to Texas 2 years ago from Canada. We really like it here. I have also been a Doula for 6 years and worked as a Postpartum Caregiver at the local birth center. I apprenticed with a local home birth midwife for 9 months. In the last 2 years, I have been to many births and learned many valuable skills. I appreciate any info you can pass along.
