@cxmonet I have similar scores as you do, and from what I understand, the BSN program at CSULA actually counts your national percentile and not your individual adjusted score. MYTEAS SCORES: Individual Adjusted Scores: Overall: 75.3% Reading: 76.2% English: 73.7% National Percentile Scores: Overall: 79 Reading: 63 English: 78 Unfortunately for me, the national percentile scores bring me down one point because of the reading With my prerequisites and transferable gpa both at a 4.0, I believe I'd have 21 points with the individual adjusted scores, but with the national scores, it drops me down to 20 points. I am going to be volunteering soon; Monica with the SON told me that as long as I complete my hours and submit them before the deadline on March 29th, that I could still gain 2 more points, however, I don't know if a 22 point score is even competitive... I should have retaken the TEAS when I had a chance, but life happens, I prioritized my things incorrectly, and now my chances are not as strong as I thought they would be... I'm hoping to retake the TEAS for CSULB and I really hope my chances are better with them...

@DarkBluePheonix Thank you very much, and I'm glad you found something to like about CSUSB, how much time do you have left? I am also applying to CSULA, but I'm a bit iffy about my chances. I think I have about a 20 on the point-scale without volunteer hours, but I am trying to volunteer at a few hospitals nearby so that i can get over 100 hours before the deadline in March. I'm curious what my chances are of getting into that school. I would rather get my BSN of course, but at this point, I am accepting the fact that I might just have to settle for the ADN programs... I have a daughter, so CSUSB isn't that great of an option for me because of distance, sitters, time... otherwise I would go and deal with the drive myself :) as far as CSULB goes, I am going to retake my TEAS, I still have time, and my GPA is good enough, but that TEAS score really brought my chances down Thanks again for your reponse, I hope you had a great New Years!

@DarkBluePhoenix, I noticed you were on the CSULB Fall 2012 thread, and I noticed that you are going to CSUSB instead... I'm curious, why didn't you go to Long Beach? I am applying for the CSULB Fall 2013 program, and I believe I have a 9.1 which is what I think you had, but I don't remember exactly what I read... was that score not sufficient enough to get into the program? I'm just wondering if I need to retake my TEAS. . . Thank you, and congratulations on getting into CSUSB!

hi everyone and anyone willing to help a really confused person . . . me!!! i am a student attending cerritos college here in california. i am currently working on my general ed and prerequisites to persue admission into the aa nursing program. i heard that cerritos college has a really long waiting list (like 1 -2 years), and that the requirements are really high considering the competitiveness. this is my dilemma. i am so confused about how college works sometimes. i figure that if it takes one to two years to get admitted into the nursing program for cerritos, that i might as well try persuing my bsn. my question is, can i finish my prerequisites, general ed, and take the teas if asked for the aa, and while i wait during those 1-2 years for a response, can i also take the other courses that are needed to transfer to csulb? (i figure i might as well because i may get acceptance from csulb faster than the aa program if the wait list is too long) now if i end up receiving acceptance to the aa program, can i just drop everything and persue that instead (of course only if i haven't invested too much time persuing the bsn)? i just don't know if the school allows that because they may say i have to pick one or the other, but i thought i could open my chances of getting into a program by submitting an application to both. also, does csulb have a waiting list, and if so, do they do the lottery thing also? i really want to become a nurse, so any advice would be great!

Also, let's say I did want to transfer to CSLBU, do they look at your overall GPA during your whole time in community college, or do they only count the pre-reqs? I heard they work on a point system rather than a lottery system, is that true? Something about 90 students being accepted, but I am not sure if that was by year, or by semester. I was just curious because if I end up waiting 2 years just to get into the nursing program to get my ADN, I might as well go straight to getting my BDN. At least I could put myself on the waiting list in case, but still work on my BDN while I wait just in case. What does anyone think?

hello, i have been doing my research online about how to get my aa in nursing, and i noticed several people saying that it is really difficult to get accepted. what are the requirements, and how long is the wait? i heard that you can get on the waiting list while you are in school, but i do not know if that is true. i would think you need to finish your general ed and prerequisites first in order first in order to submit the application. does anyone have an idea about any of these questions? please!! please!! please!!! i am so excited to become a nurse, and i am willing to wait, but i just want to be sure about what i am getting into.
