I hadn't heard of her but I will follow up and find out more. I first became interested in nursing after reading a book called,Birth As an American Rite of Passage by Robbie E. Davies-Floyd. But, got sidtracked and finished my BA, had a few jobs...now I am back at square one applying to accelerated BSN programs for this fall. Are there any specific books that combiine nursing and anthropology that you could suggest?

Hello all. I am applying to accelerated BSN programs in NYC. What are the key traits that schools look for in prospective nursing students? And, what are they key traits that have made you a successful nurse? I know these are big questions, thanks for your time. Anyone in a NYC accelerated BSN program, what are you thoughts on the program?

Many universities offer accelerated nursing programs for non-nursing college graduates. I am applying to many of these programs for this fall. I have a BA in anthropology. Allnurses.com has a whole section which lists the names of universites that have these programs by location. Most programs are a year long, you graduate with a BSN. Or just google "accelerated nursing programs." Good luck.
