  1. Hey Thanks for your responses. Currently I am only taking one Speech class. I am currently in Lehman college so I am going to try take some pre reqs during the summer sessions. I shadowed the speech teacher at school and even though she was great, I can't see myself doing her job.
  2. Hello all! I am relatively new to this site. I remember growing up I wanted to be a pediatrician or a nurse but my mom had told me nurses work long hours and your dealing with sick people so that derailed me. When I got to college I opted to go the Teacher route and received an associate in Early Childhood education. Now I am in a four year college, and I am in the speech program but pediatric nursing/ labor and delivery is my calling. I have a 9 month old son, and I would really like advice from moms with children on my situation. I would really love to go into a field where I will enjoy working and that is nursing. Right now I am a teacher assistant and even though I enjoy the kids, I dislike the politics in schools.
  3. i do not get it why do you insist on insulting me? when i was MERELY asking for advice. and i was refering to nurses that have accents because you are trying to insult me by saying "after reading your post I can see why you got low marks in English. Perhaps you should take another composition class for your own benefit, let alone to increase your GPA and make up for the previous class with the poor grade." i am fluent in English and i do not need to take any class for my own benefit. I repeat i was only asking for advice on what to do since i want to become a nurse and the college i attend is giving me a hard time. if you have anything else to say keep it to yourself because i thought this forum was for students and nurses to ask for advice if i'm wrong then i will find out for myself
  4. THESQUIRE: if my english seems bad to you im sorry but you have not spoken to me personally. when i posted that bulletin i was at work and was in a rush. the professor that taught me english that semester was a tough grader and only about 5 people passed the class that semester. i was only asking for advice and looking to be insulted by anyone. by the way i have often been to hospitals and there are plenty of nurses with heavy accents. i was just looking for some advice
  5. hi im currently in the liberal arts major so i could able to pass my preclinicals which are only two classes i have left. the problem i am having is that now i cant get into the nursing program because i have a C in one of my english classes and then tells me why dont i go into the field of EMT or respiratory therapist. when the counselor told me this i felt so confused because at the beginning of the semester i was told by another counselor that i just need to pass the pre clinicals to then apply for the nursing department . now i am thinking about what to do and i have no idea anyone here knows the steps to transfer to another college that will not make me wait so long in order for me to get into the program. it would be greatly appreciated.
