Need help picking job: trauma/ortho or stepdown?confused
I graduated nursing school in sept, Ihave goals in going back to school for possibly nurse anestitist or flight nurse. I got called by a community hospital for a stepdown position and I said yes. For four months I have been searching for a job and finally this job came up. I have had a cpl interviews but got nothing. Then three days later a city hospital called me to interview for a trauma/ortho gen. surg unit. I spent time in the military and was around trauma and shadowed in a trauma unit and loved it. Now Im caught in this mix because I already excepted this job for stepdown and dont want to burn any bridges. My interview is tomorrrow for the trauma. stepdown-good first experience, 10min drive, keep my seniorty because I worked for the hospital system while in school, more money, a friend has been asking me to be his roomate-so place to live, already accepted job (for sure) Trauma-50min drive, more opportunity, more expereince, will help me get into flight nurse or crna quicker, what I want to do, more money for school, less money for pay, will prbably need to get a place near hospital, sometimes I feel that I do need a change from my area,

Questions regarding psych nursing?
thanks for the info, maybe like detox or something??? Well hopefully my rotation will get better. My teacher is great, its just the role of the nurse campared to the role a critical care or med surg nurse would do. I cant get a grasp on it like the other stuff, which I do so well in.

Questions regarding psych nursing?
First off I am in my psych rotation and I am having the hardest time with this semester. This is diffentely not for me. My med surg and telemetry and critical care are were Im at but Im doing terrible in psych. I need some help relating to this class and study techniques because I am not getting it. I study study and its not clicking??? Second, I have a project to do by the end of the semester and it can be very broad but it has to relate to psych. My passion is in critical care and would like to do something with that but relates to psych. Although if anyone can help me with a ANY good topic related to anything let me know. I have to write a summary of the EVB article and do a side project in the end, like a guest speaker or powerpoint or a game, handouts etc......... Thank you

Study alot and cannot find away to get a better grade, help
I got 2 weeks and I'm done with med-surg and I start ccu in 3 weeks. The last three tests I've got C's on and I can understand why I cannot get over this hump. I know med-surg is hard but Ive always gotten A's or high B's. I know I was told that I studied to much and I believe I was and I pushed myself to live life a little more and study less and I still am getting C's. I re-write, study the book and notes and cant do anything to get over this. I even study the Saunders Nclex book too, for help??? I'm not a perfectionist, a B would be great. Any help? techniques?

careers after my RN, which is best for me?
I plan going back to school after my RN here shortly and working part time. I talk to alot of nurses at the hospital I work at and I work with many old timers who say unless you plan on going further than a batchelors dnt go back to school. I think there right and wrong but I want to go back to school. I like school alot but arent sure what would be best for me after a batchelors. I have a high B in nursing right now and I have less than a year left. I was in the military before and flew in helicopters and was thinking about flight nurse, which requires time in the er, icu and trauma/paramedic type experience or class. Although I have thought of nurse anesthetist, nurse practitioner or physcian assistant. Im trying to figure out what would be best for me out of these 4 careers. Im 25 now and really dont want to be in school forever although I want to go further, Im not very confident in my math but I can do it, I want something very interesting not boring, a career were I can actually get into a school (Im smart but the type who has to study all the time, Im very dedicated, Im not the type who can study 2 days before the tests and get an A). If anyone can help I really appriciate it. Does anyone know any websites were I can get info on what would be best for me?
