  1. C2Cnurse I would love to stay in contact to share experiences. I've added some people to my contacts so I will be messaging periodically. You all do the same! Thanks!!!
  2. Well I got my letter today...FINALLY! Unfortunately, I wasn't accepted into the program. I will contact them because I am curious as to why. However, I don't think I will apply again. I will have already started another program and I don't want to switch once I have started. Good luck to the class of 2011!!!
  3. I have no idea! When we first spoke she said she was going to try to get permission to email my letter to me. When we spoke later she said she couldn't but she was sending another one.
  4. I called admissions today and found out that my letter was actually lost in the mail. Originally she thought I didn't received it because it was addressed incorrectly but she called me back to say it had been sent last week. She put another one in the mail today so I should get it soon. I am also excited about Wake Tech's program. I did want to do the study abroad though. As Nic said, everything happens for a reason! I'll still let you guys know when I get my letter.
  5. I will look into that. I definitely need the Hep vac series because it was optional for the program I am currently in. I think I'm up to date on the rest but I have to double check.
  6. Thanks! I really appreciate your words of encouragement. It's a great idea to get feedback from the department to help me out if I apply for the next class. This message board has really been a blessing in these past few weeks!
  7. Wow, Great information C2CNurse. Thanks for taking the time to type it all! I don't have insurance but luckily my job will reimburse me for most of the vaccinations. Again congrats everyone and good luck to all awaiting notification.
  8. Hopefully someone will choose not to attend and you will be called! All of this waiting for a letter and now more waiting...But congrats on not being rejected!!! Gotta look at the bright side
  9. I didn't get a letter today but I don't feel as hopeless since someone received an acceptance as late as Friday. I may have joined the Facebook group too soon though. I think I got caught up in all the excitement! Anyway, the anticipation continues! :grn:
  10. I called Friday and tried to explain that I had financial obligations to another school if I didnt get in yet didnt want to waste money if I was actually accepted to UNC. But she said she couldn't tell me and to wait for my letter. Let me know if they say they will tell you in person. Just my luck, I will make the trip out there in the morning and get the letter that afternoon!
  11. Yep! Nothing but bills and junk! How about u?
  12. Taz, if we are both accepted we should carpool if our schedule allows! (by the way, no word yet)
  13. This is my 15th post so I should be able to PM now. C2CNurse, I am ready! I will drive to Carolina and hand deliver it the same day if I need to lol.
  14. Congrats Renee! *I don't have PM privileges yet so I can't send or respond to messages*
  15. I also enjoyed Gateway. I love the online book option. We should meet up tomorrow. I will try to message you. *Actually I can't PM yet*
  16. Nothing yet for me either. I have a feeling they will tell me but I will let you know my status either way!
  17. Well I've pretty much resolved that I won't be getting an acceptance letter. I think I would have gotten one already because I don't live that far from Chapel Hill. Of course there will be a little tinge of hope until I get the big N-O in writing but for the most part I know it's a wrap!
  18. Congrats!!!!!!! and Congrats again C2CNurse! :-)
  19. Congrats C2CNurse!!!!!! I am so excited for you and all those who have been accepted thus far. Do they have any requirements such as a physical or background check? We are on the same page as far as having contacts and networking. This is crucial to success in a program like nursing. We'll definitely have to set something up. Nic11, yes I am going the the Wake Tech Gateway to Success class. I will take my drug test in the morning (I hate to pay 63 dollars for it though!!).
  20. I wasn't aware of the study abroad. That is something I am very interested in. Do you have any details about the location or how they select students?
  21. Yes. I thought the accelerated program would be a bit too much for me to handle. I'm going to be working while doing the program so I feel an extra two semesters would take some of the stress off. I'm hoping tomorrow is the day. If not, I'll have to pay for a drug test on Friday for Wake Tech. I'm still meeting all their deadlines just in case UNC doesn't come through.
  22. Hi everyone, I posted in the other thread but thought I'd write something here as well. Still waiting...normally I am a patient person but this is killing me! I'll let u know soon as I hear something.
  23. Is it just the accelerated program that wants to know by the 18th or both ABSN and BSN?
  24. nic11, were you accepted to Wake Tech? If so, what schedule did you get? I'm "A".
  25. I live in Cary so it should not take long in the mail. I have a two-day nursing class on Friday and Saturday for Wake Tech so it would be great if I got an acceptance letter before then so that I won't have to go. Also I want the alternate to be able to take my place. Good tip about the envelope thickness. I'll know soon as I pick it up! I look forward to meeting the two of you as well!
