  1. Did the title captivate you? Do you feel the same? I am a RN in my second year of working on a busy med surg floor in hospital that is a part of a well known system in NY. I came into this position bright eyed and bushy tailed. But working here is emotionally draining. I love being a nurse, and I love caring for my patients. And I always say my coworkers are a huge reason why I haven't left thus far. Maybe its the nurse to patient ratio, maybe its the lack of support of the nursing staff. I don't know. But I really think I am OVER direct patient care, at least here, or ANY other kind of medical/surgical/ ICU type of unit. This is my first position as a nurse but I am really looking into possibly going to the OR. The problem is a lot of places want experienced nurses then there goes that classic statement of " how do you get experience if no one will give you any?". I feel like I am ranting, I just wanted to know if anyone else has ever felt this way. Staying is NOT an option so please, you don't have to try to convince me. I feel like a caged bird. I need to be set free. Any body have any ideas?' Also I was thinking of going back to school online. Possibly a dual nursing program?(MSN/MBA)? I don't see any schools that offer it online only. And Stony Brook's online program only talks about nurse leadership/ nurse education courses. Somebody.....Anybody?
