When and how long do you work? Please include your job.

Thanks for the responses. I also want to ask about the hospital setting. Is it depressing? I know there are people dying, and that sometimes gets me down. But how do you deal with it?

I am going to nursing school in Jan 2011 (BSN degree). As of now, I am completing my pre-reqs, and am taking some studies that might interest me in other careers besides nursing. But I am certain that nursing is for me and it seems like a very rewarding career. BUT... I want you guys to tell me some bad experiences you have had working as a nurse, or even studying to be a nurse. Just lay it all out for me before I embark on this 4 year adventure.

Sorry for being the newby. But I don't know what CRNA means? How does it differ from an RN?

Hello. First I want to say that I am new to this site and am new to the idea of nursing. I am currently in Uni taking General Studies. I just need a few more credits than I can enter the 4 year BSN program which starts two years from now in January. It is still a long way to go, but what should I expect when I go with this program? I know the books are overwhelming (I have to buy 13 books for the first semester), and the course is intense. But please, tell me your experience during the first semester.
