  1. Thx u guys....I guess ill have to see for myself though....
  2. I live in South GA & I was wondering how is the pay for an LPN in a home health care setting. How is the pay & do you get paid by the # of patients you have or hourly? Currently working in geriatrics, looking for something new. I don't know if this will be something totally different but Im also going back to RN school this summer & I thought this would be less stressful/aggravating.....What do u guys think/suggest?????
  3. I know this is a stressful time but just hang in there. There's quite a few ppl that have passed with only 75 ?'s. Take a moment to just BREATHE!!! Think positive & have faith. I'm rooting for you!!!! Don't base evythg on that PVT either.
  4. Oh yea, I forgot to ask about this company Kaiser Permanente. Is anyone familiar with these guys. I see this name a lot when Im searching for jobs on the internet in the Atlanta area. A friend of mine told me that they pay good....but I need to know for sure. LPN by the way for whoever replies to this thread. PLEASE REPLY! I know every new graduate want to hit it big on their first job as a nurse ($$$$)......me as well.....Where would I need to look in Atlanta where the pay is good & great benefits!?!??!?! Sincerely, Lpn in need of a great job & money! lol
  5. Totally agree with this! Letting everyone know you're taking the test adds more pressure on you.
  6. I truly can relate to this. This past Monday was my 3rd time taking the NCLEX. Fortunately & finally I passed with 87 questions answered. My 1st time around...totally unprepared! It was like the whole time I was in nursing school, I didnt think twice about ever taking my boards. After the 1st failure, it opened my eyes a bit. I began studying like crazy, day in & day out! I would highly advise no to do this...Burnout quickly & easily. I was stressing so bad my eating habits changed & my hair was breaking off! 2nd time taking the exam...completely blown away once again! It was like I studied for nothing. See where I went wrong, I was answering the questions based on my comprehension....DONT Do THIS!!!!! You need to ANALYZE & APPLY. Okay round 3, here we go. I didnt study for hours evyday, just an hour (study questions on the Saunders disc). I didnt stress or think about it as much as I did the first 2 times. I read the strategies in the kaplan-pn book (GREAT-A MUST HAVE) & just practiced nclex-style questions. I highly recommend the Kaplan book b/c it open your eyes and mind on how to think like a nurse & how to answer questions. Kaplan-pn + practice question + Faith = SUCCESSFULLY PASSING THE NCLEX!!!! I hope this helps b/c I was where you were just 5 days ago. Just go in and do it
  7. Thx, Ill look into those colleges.
  8. Okay....it's not much of a dilemma but it's something to think about. I live in a small town in Ga & I'm currently awaiting to recieve my nursing license (lpn). There are NOT many positions avail in my town or surrounding counties for a lpn. Now, Ive had my eye on Atlanta for a while now & there are bookoo's of pos. avail for lpn's. I really want to hop up & go to Atlanta but I also have 2 little ones to think about. I would also like to return to school for my Rn but the thing is I would like to attend a tech school b/c I've found one not far from my town who offers a ADN program. Now I would like to know what any of you suggest & are they're any tech schools in Atlanta that offer the sAme thing.
  9. Im sure Im not the only who's failed the nclex more than once, but Im highly anxious about taking it for the 3rd time around. My first 1st try, I didnt feel so bad when I failed. My 2nd time around, I was crushed b/c I went in with so much confidence & I just knew I was going to pass, but didnt. It's like I dont know what to think now. I have been through that Saunders book so many times that I hate to even look at that book now. Some suggest that I take a course, but I dont have the $$$ to do so. My last attempt on the nclex I had so many drugs & select all that apply......I've started looking at this Kaplan book & so far Im finding some helpful strategies but it's like Im still afraid to take the nclex again. I dont see how...or can anyone suggest how should I go about studying??? I've told myself that I just had two bad tests back to back (trying to comfort myself), but in actuality I know that it's me. What am I doing wrong here!!!! I want to be a licensed nurse NOW!!!!!
