  1. Please review this link http://www.cna-nurses.ca/CNA/documents/pdf/publications/CRNE_Bulletin_June_2009_e.pdf it has information about the blueprint of the June 2010 exam until May 2015. In here you can precisely determine the structure of the exam and whether or not it includes short answer questions.
  2. Mosby's Canadian Comprehensive Review of Nursing. Second Edition + CD + Guide to Short Answer Questions on the CRNE Mosby's Prep Guide for the Canadian RN Exam (2007) Lippincott's CRNE Prep Guide (2009) The Canadian Registered Nurse Exam Prep Guide 4th Edition + CD These are the material I used in preparing for the CRNE. Guys this was my second attempt and I wanted to pass really badly because you know this exam means your future in nursing, so I used every resource available. It is a lot but think of the satisfaction and gratification this will bring when it's all over. That being said, I am not encouraging anyone to go and buy all these books if you cannot for any reason. This is just what I did and it worked for me. Best of luck! p.s. try to incorporate an activity you enjoy doing within your schedule and while studying. For the last 10 weeks prior to the exam I would go out for a run (45 minutes) in the morning and it really helped release a lot of the tension, especially because I invested long hours studying. So please, treat yourself, go to the movies once a week, go for a coffee with a friend, etc., that will help ease your mind and stay more focused on the positives. Finally, I did NOT touch a book or any of my notes the day before the exam. I remember going to the movies the night before and just relaxed. Plan your study schedule well and you will succeed.
  3. Hi Yahy, I really have no idea about Alberta...the funny thing is that the instructor of the course I took in Toronto had come from Alberta just for that weekend and she was amazingly good. You could perhaps call UfT and ask them if they have any affiliated CRNE courses with the University of Alberta at all. Good luck to you as well!
  4. I just sold all my CRNE books a couple of days ago and gave those notes away as well. But yes, they give you a hard copy of the powerpoint presentation and a report of the mock exam.
  5. The one offered at the Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing University of Toronto is EXCELLENT! It is a two-intensive-day course with a 150 question mock CRNE exam at the end. It focuses more on test strategies and tips on how to answer the questions according to the CNA competencies. It does not cover much knowledge although the powerpoint presention given on pharmacology and lab tests were right on point. It was my second attempt and this course truly guided me towards the right direction. Just make sure you call the university and inquire about additional dates for this course. I took it this past September and not quite sure whether it is the only time of the year when they offer it. This course + content review + as many practice questions = A good chance to successfully complete the CRNE Good Luck!!
  6. Hi Kay_84...I am also new to this site and don't have the option to PM...Please let me know how to contact you...I would like to give some feedback on the things I did to make sure I was successful on the exam this time around. I received my result today and I passed...It's a blessing but I also did everything I could possibly think of to make sure that happened. Hang in there and do not be discouraged.
  7. Oh Lord thank you soo much! I passed...just open my envelope here in London, ON...it is 11:30 am. This was my second attempt. KingCarlos I couldn't agree more. I also took a course in TO for an entire weekend and it really helped me a lot. To those who failed, please don't be discouraged. Just try harder next time. If I can give any advice on my study strategies and the books/material I used please PM me, I will be very glad to help. I've been there and know exactly how it feels. I am new to this site ans still can't send private messages. I have some good tips that worked for me. The endless waiting is OVERRRRRR!
  8. I'm very sorry to hear that! but please don't lose faith...don't give up just yet! I know of so many people who made it after their last chance. Just wanted to let you know that if you're considering retaking the exam in Feb you should call the CNO because the deadline has been extended. Just take your time to decide what to do next. Important decisions should not be made when you're upset and feeling hopeless. I do believe everything in life happens for a good reason although it may not seem like it. After every storm a rainbow appears. :icon_hug:
  9. Congratulations Carol1048 and Ketty168....I know exactly the kind of stress you guys have been through...Wish you a lot of success in your careers! Please do you guys a favour; go out and celebrate this well deserved victory! you DID IT!
  10. I called the CNO today and asked them about that. I was told they are extending the deadline for the February exam in case anyone needs to retake it. They said the reason was obviously because they couldn't get the results out earlier. Good luck to everyone!
  11. Miss.Florence Congratulations!! Which province are you registering with?
  12. Yes...it makes perfect sense...remember that each exam has a different level difficulty, that is what the CNA explains. So the passing score can vary from 59-68% Also remember that the experimental questions are not taken into consideration and they are about 50 to 60 questions.
  13. Hello everyone, I'm very glad to hear the good news for those who have received the results and passed the exam, Congratulations!!. For those who didn't please don't be discouraged, just remain calm and work on strengthening your weaknesses for the next one. Remember that if you graduated you do have the knowledge. I'm also from Ontario and from what I've heard CNO takes the longest to submit the results. Those who took the exam this past June started receiving the results in 7 weeks. Good luck to everyone and hope you guys all succeed!
  14. I am actually shocked by what you guys are saying...for the past several months all I've been hearing is that Alberta is booming and there are tons of job opportunities over there...I was actually considering moving there. What is actually going on?
