You guys... Is it just me or when you see the word "solicitation" does it make you think of Law and Order? And after I was so happy about my clear background check and all! A solicitation charge could really throw a monkey wrench into my plans.

Congrats on the BLS and the clean background check, Shye! Got mine back as well. High fives for not being criminals! I went to do TB and titers today. Lucky me had immunization records for a couple of things. I'll go back for results on Wednesday. I just need to order transcripts from various and sundry places, deal with NSO insurance, and order my supersexy uniforms!

It sounds right to me. I can't imagine they would want LA County for folks who have never lived here. But I can certainly understand your wanting to double-check it. I was about to pull the trigger on the insurance tonight, and then I decided I should wait and call and talk to someone there on Monday morning first. I'm very concerned about making mistakes with this stuff!

Also, I'm not really sure why they don't drug test. I thought all nursing schools did. Weird. Though they have Livescan capabilities there on campus. Maybe they do it themselves? Seems weird that they wouldn't want it taken care of before we start. I imagine they have a plan for it. And Jeli, we start on August 26; all of our background, medical clearance, insurance, etc is due on August 1. I think we are all going to be some busy people in the coming weeks. They ask for a lot of things!

Hey Z, Orientation was good. But LOOONG! Now comes the part where we all rush around getting vaccines and physicals and obscenely expensive uniforms. (Seriously? Did anyone else check out the Dove apparel site? Yowzers! I have always maintained a love-hate relationship with white clothing because I am a magnet for icky stuff. I think maybe I should buy Dove stock now...) And congratulations to you, ordinarykathy!

Like Brewin, I got into PCC which is my first choice, so I accepted the seat there. They're both great programs, though.

I'll also be declining, so my guess is you'll be getting a call.

I have CNM plans down the road. For the next two years, though, my only goal is ADN!

Oh, and to answer your question, yes I did get an A in English. However, I still didn't get in last year, for what it's worth.

I'm sorry, booboo12. I'm glad to hear you have an acceptance, but the "you didn't win the lotto" letter definitely sucks. Just remember it's no reflection on you.

Hey Brewin, I goofed and made it private when I set it up. I will see if I can switch the group to be publicly viewable. If we do that, then will everything posted by viewable by the general public? I had imagined possibly putting contact info and meetup type stuff in there in the future. We will just need to be aware of what we post if it's public.

And for folks who are concerned about BSN applications after completing an ADN at a non_NLNAC school: guys, every community college in CA has an articulation agreement with the CSUs. If you do not plan to continue onto a BSN or if your BSN plans definitely do NOT include a CSU, then you may be correct to be worried about the NLNAC accreditation. Otherwise it really doesn't seem to make much difference. (My $.02)
