hey has anyone ordered the uniforms?? the deadline was july 2nd and i still havent ordered them.. i know bcuz its after the deadline that theyre gonna charge me shipping now but does anybody know how much??? thanks

femmebot, just becuase you havent gotten your letter doesnt mean anything.. call them and ask about it cuz i had to keep asking.. she didnt mail my letter until yesterday! and...today i got my letter.. i thought that if you were accepted they would be sending like big envelopes and packets cuz last semester when i applied and was denied they sent me a little plain sad envelope so when i received my flat regular envelope i was like damn but i opened it and...im IN!!!!! :yelclap: and ya i know first meeting is friday whichh is kinda scary to be on such short notice but even in the letter i received its dated July 2,2010 and in the letter itself it even says thatyou must confirm your intention to enroll in the program on the enclosed postcard BYYY july 1st and order your uniforms BYYY july 2nd so there reaaally running late on letting us know. keeps your hopes up! lets us know when you get your lettter!! See you guys on friday!!

i still havent gotten my letter but i did talk to ---- today over at county and told her my situation and she said that she would try to get my letter sent out for sure today. so hopefully tomorrow or tuesday ill have my letter!!

femmebot, i have no idea about special consideration for those who have a previous degree or already work in healthcare. That would be nice tho if they did lower the cut off!! You should call tomorrow and ask them. Every time i call everyone is really nice i just hate calling all the time...and i hate being a B student too! if i had straight A's i wouldnt have to stress any of this stuff!!! lol but anyways let me know when you get your letter! -iliana =]

Hey Reast, Ya im dying to get my letter already but i did call county today and kit told me that the cut off was in fact 81 points and that letters were still being sent out! im just confused and bummed out that i havent received anything yet! hopefully ill be joining you guys at orientation! does anybody know when it is??

HappyGoLucky, I actually found out from another thread here on allnurses. Someone stated that they received their letter and that in the letter it stated that the cut off was 81. i hope it is. -iliana =]

Tiger, :thankya: THANK YOU SOO MUCH afor telling us the cut off!! we were all dying to know!! If i remember correctly you told me u had 84 points so you got accepted into countys program right??.. But anyways lucky you got into your first choice so you should've been worry free weeks ago when you got your letter!! Everything happens for a reason! Goodluck to you (and your wife) at your program! but wow! 81! thats pretty high! so everyone who is 81 and above gets in??? guaranteed in?? there isnt another round of cutting of just people 81 and up right??.. i guess im just stressing.. i still havent gotten my letter but i have 82 points and i dont know if i should party or just wait as oppose to getting my hopes up!

DoubleHelix, First of all CONGRATS! on getting into Glendale!!! thats really good!!!! have you made any commitment to glendale yet or are you still waiting to hear from county?? and second thanks for the updates but as you can see its now June 18th and still nothing! ive been calling them too saying that they must know the cut off if theyre sending out letters but no one wants to say what it is!! if anyone hears anything or calls let us know what happens!! -iliana =]

sooo.... i called today and they said they had more letters than they accepted and they said theyre not sending anything out till next week.. who knows! these last two weeks are horrible!

Bria, To answer your question, i do think if you were to get accepted you have an orientation before school starts but i dont think its until way later like much closer to when school actually starts like maybe august.. not sure tho.. you should just call county and ask again and tell them your situation. If you do call and find out let us know im sure theres others wondering the same thing! -iliana =]

Hey Sup1! Hopefully my good attitude will pay off! lol but moving on....Oh my goodness theyre sending out letters by the end of this week???!!!!! Thank you sooo much for calling!!!!!!! That also means they already know what the cut off is!!!!!! Sup1, Hahahahaha i have my boyfriend call for me too sometimes so a guys voice will really throw them off and im like ask this but ask that! lol and ya like u said my sister did graduate from county and had lots and lots of good things to say thats why i applied there and only there.. but keep in mind my sisters been a nurse already for about 5 years which means she went to county about 7 years ago so im sure, but hoping not, that things have changed. But even in recent years ive talked to people who all have vouched that at county you see, leran, and experience things that others from other programs didnt. Some people say recently at county theres been alot of instances where you have to teach yourself but really i dont care get over it teach yourself. do what you need to do and dont rely on other people. its the real world and everything isnt gonna be hand to us that easy. But like tiger said if you look at passing rates at county it was 95%..that should tell you something.. im sure there wouldnt be a 95% passing rate if everyone had to teach themselves.. hope i kinda helped you get some kind of insight on county! :) Tiger! :ancong!:on getting accepted to your other school choice!!! thats good that your first choice closer school is the one that you got accepted to! now hopefully ill get into my first choice closer school! and thanks i hope your spot does go to me! i might need it! lol Lets keep everyone posted if anyone receives anything from county!! -iliana :redbeathe

hey tiger so ya out of the 400-500 applicants all they told me was they were only accepting 40 students!! and nursebrooks, sorry i dont know about the other programs.. in a stupid mistake.. i put all my eggs in one basket.. my one basket is county =[ so if i dont get in who knows what'll happen!

NurseBrooks, Wow im so sorry you didnt get in! I cant believe 83 points wasnt enough. But i guess because there were fewer spots for LVNs the point cutoff had to be higher. But on the brighter side you found out and now you can move forward onto your next step! Either way dont give up and dont get discouraged!! Nursebrooks, I think you should definitely call county! you said it starts in 2 weeks this monday! and trust me i thought the same thing about them not letting me in cuz i bug too much but really it comes down to a certain point cut off and if your there then theres nothing they can do even if they dont like you lol....right?? let us know how it goes! -iliana o ya... just called county.. for us two year programees they said they wont be sending out letters till July! i swear im gonna go craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazyy!!!!!!!!!

hey tiger ya i remember your situation (and your wife) lol but no i havent made any calls to county lately! its really really funny cuz i call and im like "ooohh sooo i was wondering.....DO YOU GUYS KNOW THE POINT CUT OFF FOR FALL IS??????????" and there like noo sorry bye lol and my sister called too but she pretended to want to know info on the school and was like oh so where are you located.. i see u have a point system.. do u use it every semester.. (a bunch of questions we already know) and then shes like soo what was the cut off for this application period so i kinda know what ball park to aim in lol and they ALWAYS say they still dont know! trust me if i could call anymore than i already have they would think im psycho! lol so im trying to be as patient as possible! Even getting emails from allnurses.com saying someone has responded to my comments i always have a mini anxiety attack! i freak out cuz im just waiting for some to be write on here "okay i found out the cut off is..." lol im soo worried that if i dont get in AGAIN that i might get really discouraged! i just cant believe its been this long since we've applied and NO ONE has gotten a response! hopefully we ALL get in! we gotta keep our hopes up! and as usual...
