My friend found out the following week the letters were sent out. She called a lot and asked if someone had given up a seat yet...LOL! I don't know an exact number, but you have to think about how much things can change for someone. One of my friends gave up her seat, b/c she just realized it wasn't what she wanted to do. Unfortunately for some people it takes a little while in the program to realize nursing is not for them. Hopefully, you guys will get some closure soon:)

Hi everyone:) Sorry to hear you have to wait! I can't imagine what you are going through. I will say that I was surprised last year, b/c there were quite a few people who did not accept their seat in the program. One of my really good friends was an alternate and she did get in. It was the longest and hardest wait of her life:( If I was an alternate I would go to the orientations. This way if someone drops before summer classes start you guys will know whats going on and have an idea of what the nursing department is going to need from you. Yes there are several of my friends taking non nursing courses now, but it is really hard on them! I would recommend getting them out of the way as soon as possible! Nursing classes themselves are very time consuming and its a whole different style of test and demands! Also the grading scale changes. Its no longer 90-100 an A and so on. Its 93-100 A 85-92 B 76-84 C, and you cannot score lower than a 76...anything less isn't passing. I think you will be fine. As long as a person wants it they can achieve it...LOL!

After all the waiting I got my acceptance letter and I am about to finish my first year. The time flies!!! If I could give any advice it would be to get started on all of your immunizations as soon as you get your acceptance letter, take the summer NE 100 class b/c you will need to be proficient in your calculations for all test and before you can pass meds at clinicals, and if you haven't already establish good organizational and time management skills start now! This is an awesome program with GREAT instructors, but it requires you to be dedicated! I love it! If you guys have any questions please ask. Hi everyone, I am having a hard time remaining confident. I know that nursing school is a struggle and that the best of the best will feel beat down at times, but I just feel so inferior. There are so many young students who seem to just have the confidence there all the time in clinicals and class. I myself am usually not a person who has problems in this area, but lately everything is getting to me. I'm constantly comparing myself to others. I came from a low income family and will be the first one to graduate college. I don't really know where I'm going with this, I guess I just want to know how everyone has dealt with becoming more confident in themselves.

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to share this with all of you. I'm sure many of you may have read it before, but our instructor shared this with us last week and it really touched me! We are finishing up our rotations at a long term care facility this week and this poem really changed my outlook! I don't think I will ever be the same! See Me Author unknown What do you see, nurses, what do you see? What are you thinking when you're looking at me? A crabby old woman, not very wise, Uncertain of habit, with faraway eyes? Who dribbles her food and makes no reply. When you say in a loud voice, "I do wish you'd try!" Who seems not to notice the things that you do, And forever is losing a stocking or shoe. Who, resisting or not, Lets you do as you will, With bathing and feeding, the long day to fill. Is that what you're thinking? Is that what you see? Then open your eyes, nurse; you're not looking at me. I'll tell you who I am as I sit here so still, As I do at your bidding, as I eat at your will. What if you can't record lectures? Our school doesn't allow us. Do you have any other methods that work for you?

Hi! I was accepted and started the program this summer. I had 17 points and got in. They told me 15 was the minimum, but one of my friends actually had 15 and was an alternate. Her only chance of getting in was if someone dropped or decided not to accept their spot in the program. Luckily for her she got a call a week later and was in the program b/c someone denied their spot. I think with 18 points you will have no problem at all. The net test is fairly easy. The math portion is everything you learned in algebra. It was easy to me. The english portion was a little harder, don't sweat that test you will do fine. You won't even take that test until January.
