  1. I currently have a MS in Ed (Master of Science in Education) to become a School Administrator (ie: Principal, Assistant Principal, etc)....but I realize being an Administrator is definitely not for me. So my question...Since I already have my Masters degree...is it easier to get an MSN? Or do I have to get an RN first and then MSN? I'm sorry if my questions sound really stupid!!! I'm just trying to get my questions answered.
  2. Yes, my husband is a doctor at a large teaching hospital. I'm going to wait until he gets home today to see what he can do to help me.
  3. I started a thread yesterday about wanting to change my career from Teaching to Nursing...it's a really hard decision for me to make!! I'm 24 years old and this is actually my 3rd year of Teaching 8th graders. I was always torn between wanting to be a Teacher or a Nurse. I eventually went in the Teaching route and I absolutely love it. My 8th graders are a riot!! I never have a dull moment. BUT at the same time...I still want give Nursing a try too. My husband is a Doctor. I've asked him and his colleagues for their opinions. My husband was a little hesitant at first about me becoming a Nurse but now says he'll support my decision if I do. Is there a way for me to shadow a nurse for a few days over the weekend? I think if I shadow a nurse it'll help me make my decision a lot easier. And for those of you wondering...I'm not sitting in my classroom posting threads on here...I actually have the week off from catching H1N1 from my students. Blah.
  4. Is there a way I can shadow a nurse...possibly during the weekend? As a Teacher I have some college kids that does a full day of shadowing about twice a month so they can figure out if they really want to be a Teacher. Let's just say after some college kids shadow a 8th grade Teacher...they realize Teaching isn't for them. In Teaching you either have a passion for it or you don't...it doesn't take long to realize what you have. I would like to know if there is a way I can shadow a nurse to see if it's really what I want to do.
  5. I'm in the same boat as you are...except I'm in Teaching and want to go into Nursing.
  6. QT you are very delusional about what being a "Doctor's Wife" is like. Let me tell you it's not all that it's cracked up to be. I commented on your post before mentioning I AM one of those Teachers who married a Doctor that you have such negative feelings towards. You have this idea that your life is going to be all rainbows and sunshine after you marry a Doctor...well it's not. If you're after money...you're better off with plenty other men. I honestly NEVER thought I would marry a Doctor...life happens and sometimes the love of your life will pop out from no where. So don't just limit yourself to Doctors...there are PLENTY of eligible Bachelors out there that are just as good or even better. I'm 24 only 1 year older than you...but I feel as if our maturity level is 10 years apart.
  7. This is my first time making a new thread. I just joined this site a few hours ago. Anyway, right now I'm currently an 8th grade teacher. As much as I love my job, I would also like to pursue a career in Nursing. When I was in college I was always torn between wanting to be a Teacher or wanting to be a Nurse. Eventually I became a Teacher. Since I'm 24 and quite young, I thought giving Nursing a try right now wouldn't be so bad. However, I married my husband over the summer who happens to be a Doctor. I discussed wanting to be a nurse with him. At first he discouraged me from becoming a nurse but now he says he will support me if I decide to leave Teaching to become a Nurse. I was reading the posts on here...and noticed a lot of nurses venting about Doctors. Do they really treat nurses that badly? It's making me quite nervous.
  8. QT, I only registered today after reading you bash Teachers. I'M currently a Teacher. I teach 8th graders and I love every moment of it. I have no idea what your problem with teachers is...but you need to change your perception. I work my butt off every day to give my students the best education I can give them. I was looking in the forums because I am considering changing careers to Nursing because being a Nurse is something I've wanted to be aside from being a Teacher. Does this mean I hate Teaching?? Absolutely not. I'm offended by you bashing Teachers and I sure hope I don't have you as my colleague one day. Oh, as for Teachers marrying Doctors...I'm one of those Teachers. However, we met when he helped me fix my car when it broke down on the side of the road 3 years ago. I didn't go chasing after him because he is a Doctor.
