  1. Has anyone received their 6-month verification form yet? My 6 month date was January 26th.
  2. I was selected last year. My debt to income ratio is 230%, I work at a DSH in southern NH.
  3. Southern Maine/New Hampshire: New Grad- $22/hr, tough market though.
  4. I work at Wentworth Douglass in Dover, NH (10 minutes from Portsmouth), with your experience, the pay would be closer to $30/hr on days, $37/hr on nights for per diem, reg pay is $2/hr less. I really like it here, great work environment, max 5 patients/nurse. Not for profit hospital versus Portsmouth which is owned by HCA. Would reccomend WDH over Ports.
  5. I got my deposit today too! So psyched!
  6. My acceptance letter only came with the first page of the FAQ I guess. There wasn't anything we were supposed to return to them was there? I hope I'm not missing anything else! Let me know when you get a chance. Have you recieved your first deposit yet? - Sarah
  7. Gnovime - I was just wondering if you had any idea when we were going to recieve our first deposit? My contract was effective the same day as yours. Sarah
  8. anurse20 - My debt to income ratio was 314% (bad I know). Thats why I'm so happy :) I hope you hear soon!!!
  9. I live in southern Maine and work at a DSH in New Hampshire.
  10. I just checked the website and it just says your application was submitted and we'll notify you in writing in 5-6 months. I don't think they update that after you submit it online. the only contact I recieved before this was a email with the contract and banking info forms that I faxed in on June1st. Hope this helps.
  11. Hey Everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that I GOT MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER TONIGHT and I am under contract!! I am so excited!!! Keep an eye out in the mail! I hope you all get it!
  12. I got an e-mail with the contract (which I signed), verification form and banking info form last week. I faxed it all back to them. I'm hoping this is a good sign. My debt to income ratio is almost 300%. I'm so anxious to find out, I can't believe we have to wait until September.
  13. I just wanted to let everyone know that I talked to two girls that I went to nursing school with last night, who both got THIS award last year, and they both had co-signers on ALL of their loans. Most large loans have co-signers, because 1) they are large sums of money and 2) many students don't have much credit history when applying for school. I didn't want anyone to think that co-signed loans are not eligible. Clearly the people who answer the phones at the HRSA call center do not know what they are talking about (and the CFO is wrong). If co-signed loans were not accepted, it would be indicated in the "Loans Not Qualifying for Repayment" section. Hope this helps! Sarah
  14. Katezenta - For my private loan I got the promissory note (which didn't have disbursement dates) and I requested that they send me another document that did have the disbursment dates, because I think they want them to ensure the loan was disbursed during your education. I'm sure Sallie Mae has something they could send you that has disbursment dates on it. Hope that helps. Sarah
  15. Did any of your loans have co-signers? Someone told me that this will make my loan ineligible. I dont see that any where in the info packet. Do you know? Thanks, Sarah
  16. Hey Everyone, I was wondering if anyone on here who has received the award in the past had loans that were co-signed by someone. No where in the application packet does it say that these loans do not qualify but someone at the HRSA call center said they didn't count. I thought most large student loans had co-signers! If anyone has any insight, let me know. I am planning on sending out my application tomorrow. Thanks!
  17. Why is it not on the application packet anywhere?
  18. Reno -Nubian Queen is saying that co-signed loans are ineligible. Are most large student loans not co-signed? I thought they were. I don't see anywhere in the app packet anything about co-signed loans not qualifying. Parent PLUS loans don't qualify but the are entirely different. I was just wondering if you knew?
  19. Nubian Queen - I have read the Application Guidelines several times and no where in the packet does it say that if you have co-signers on your loan makes it ineligible. Parent PLUS loans, which are loans made to parents for their children in school, are not eligible. Most large student loans have co-signers? I have called the call center and every time I speak to a different person and get a different answer. Where did you find this information about co-signed loans being ineligible?
  20. When does the application usually get posted for the new year?
  21. Gudiarani - I am applying for NELRP 2010. I work at a DSH in Maine. I see that your ratio is right around where mine is, about 290%. Do you think that is high enough to have a chance? My loan payments are killing me, 1,100 a month! I'd appreciate your input! :)
  22. If I am first preference funding, do they just go by your debt to income ratio? My ratio is 285%. From looking around this site, I think that will be high enough if thats the case...?
  23. No, I didn't apply for 2009. I didn't think my hospital was a DSH, but it is, so I'm applying for '10.
  24. I have a question for you. I am getting married in the middle of the application process for 2010, but after it is due. Will they look at my debt to income ratio of the income of my fiance and I combined since we will be married in June 2010?
  25. Hello Everyone, I am going to apply for NELRP for 2010. I am getting married in June '10. I am wondering if when I apply, will they look at my debt to income ratio or that of me and my husbands combined income once we are married, since we are getting married in the middle of the application process. If anyone knows I would love to know. My debt to income ratio by my self is 268%, but much less with my fiances income added. Right now I live with my parents and am struggling to pay my loans. Thanks, Sarah
