    The big move

My wife and I are planning a trip to Denver area this summer to scout things out for relocation. We are going to try to look at Colorado Springs, Denver, Boulder areas. We are looking for acreage within a reasonable commute (1 hour) of one of these cities. We want to live in the serene mountain setting to build which can accommidate horses, yet is reasonably affordable (3,000/acre, 30+acres). So far, I think we are looking at the southwestern area of Denver, but we really know very little about Colorado. I really want to leave myself opportunity for growth professionally as a NP. This will be the final move for our family, as we have planned this for some time. We will be moving in late 2005/2006. If anyone has information or resources for us to draw from, it would be greatly appreciated.

The ER has become a restaurant.....

I have often used the waiter/restaraunt analogy myself. I often like to reflect on the patient who visits regularly and requests her narcotic, antihistamine, and antiemetic by name and order in which they should be given. This patiet now has grown to request the people who she wishes to help her to the restroom. This patients gets it all. AHHHHHHHHH now thats customer service. At least at the restaraunt the customer would pay the bill.
  4. I am currently attending a MSN/FNP program in. I hope to seek employment in the field of emergency medicine, as my nursing/paramedic beckground has in part influenced this descision. In developing a paper for an class assignment, I have about 8 questions to ask of a NP working in an Emergency Department setting (in practice for at least 1 year). While I do know a handful of NP's in my area, none of them practice in this setting. If anyone would be interested in helping he with this (within the next week), It would be greatly appreciated. Communication directly via MSN Messenger would be best, but if this is not possible, I have attached a list of questions. Thank You, mstay, BSN,RN,CFRN rrmstay@hotmail.com

    FNP's

Thanks for responding. I am not sure to be honest. My family and I have hopes to moving to a rural community, about 30-40 minutes from major town or city, close to great skiing, and where we can buy acreage at a reasonable price. I do not even know if this a reasonable expactation. I will not graduate FNP school until Dec 2005, but I am aggressively researching things now. Any insight would be helpful. Mike
