AASU BSN Program JAN 2012
There are several apartment complexes close to campus and that area is called "Southside". Another nice area is about six miles from campus and towards downtown. The area is "midtown" or Ardsley Park. It's closer to the charming areas of town and there are a lot of SCAD students that rent rooms or small houses in the area. It's also close to both Candler and Memorial Hospitals where you'll be doing clinicals. Some of the nursing students have met their roommates at their orientation. Living on one of the islands is not convenient and probably more expensive. I wish I knew more about what students have done for their living situations. I've been renting a friend's house (my youngest daughter moved with me and she's attending Armstrong as well). While I was still working full-time, I actually went to Kennesaw and Chattahoochee Tech to get some of my prerequisites done!

AASU BSN Program JAN 2012
Hi! I'll be graduating in May, 2014. The Armstrong program has about 85 in each cohort. I highly recommend coming to Savannah, visiting the campus and making an appointment to speak with someone in the department. I have loved Savannah and really like the Armstrong campus and the nursing program. It's a small school and Savannah is a small city. I came here from Atlanta and really enjoy the slower pace. Your grades and scores seem definitely competitive. It all depends on the averages of the applicant group you are with. I also think there's an advantage for students who have completed some of their pre-requisite courses at AASU as well. I transferred a year prior to applying in order to take my biology classes at Armstrong. Armstrong has a lot of commuter students. It's not like GCSU or Georgia Southern where a lot of kids live on campus. I liked that there were a lot of non-traditional students (not the majority, but a good number). I'm not sure what else to tell you! You can also visit the school's website and call the nursing department. Good luck with your decision - it's a tough process!

AASU BSN Program JAN 2012
Hey Jen, I applied too and haven't heard anything. I was also wondering how long it takes them to make a decision and when I might hear something. Let me know when you hear from them. If this is your second app, I bet you'll get in. I'm pretty sure I won't make the cut. Good luck!
