  1. Hi everyone. I am recent new grad RN that really wants to eventually become PACU nurse. For the past several months I have been working as an RN on a cardiovascular telemetry unit (even had to move out of my home state just to find a job). Things are going good though and my nurse manager has even mentioned moving me into CVICU possibly as early as in spring. I don't have any gurantee that this will happen. However I recently got a call from a hospital back home about an ER position. So I went back home for an interview, and they ended up offering me the job in the ER. So I was wondering what job would offer a better, and yes quicker path for myself to eventually get into PACU nursing. Thanks for any replies.
  2. Hi everyone, well i'm a new grad and I just started my first job on Wednesday. However things are not going well. Without going into too much detail, two nurses have quit since I have started, leaving just me and another new grad RN who has only been there a few weeks. Any type of orientation I was going to get at this place is pretty much nonexistant now. I am even worried that some of the stuff they want me to do, may fall outside our scope of practice. Needless to say, I have to leave. Not only do I have a huge concern for my license, but I do not think this job will help me grow professionally as a nurse, since I have no orientation or even veteran nurse leadership available to help me along the way. I never signed a contract or agreement with this place, so is it acceptable to resign and leave immediatly with no notice? Will doing this hurt me professoinally? Also, I don't have a legal responsibility to stay at this place because it is severly understaffed do I? Thanks in advance for any advice....
