Oh I bet she felt stupid! That's CRAZY!! Yeah when I went there today the first thing he said was "Let's see who gets done first". He my STEP_DAD to top it off. Idiot! Then when I was leaving as we passed each other when I went outside he looked at me and said "Nursing" while shaking his head!!!!!!! :flamesonb- A bit bummed :(
Thanks! This made me smile and laugh a bit!! teehee:smokin:- My ADN program does NOT
I meant separate classes! Thanks guys. I've been making a lot of posts lately but I am going back for my second degree and am just making sure of everything! :) I will be starting pre-reqs this fall full-time. I have a few of the classes finished already but my friend who;s at the same school said something about medical terminology for when we come back for our RN. She was confusing the hell out of me because our program is for ASN which we get prepared to take test for our RN. I was getting worried.- My ADN program does NOT
require pharmacology or medical terminology. I find this weird! Do you???:redlight:- A bit bummed :(
Thank you. It sucks because this is my moms husband. Good thing I'm old enough and don't have to live with him! Thank you again!- Fall 2010 Class Schedule: Is it too much?
Thank you so much for your reply and ideas! Do you think the paperback international edition would work well for me? I will be taking the intro a&p class. My school sucks and won't budge on telling us what books we need until a week before school starts! Meanies!- Fall 2010 Class Schedule: Is it too much?
Thanks a TON you guys! It's SO nice to have actual students and nurses as a support system! My step dad is a nurse and he is just negative about it all! It's overwhelming to go to my moms and here him put down what I want! But anyways... Sorry Im just feeling a bit down today since I've talked to him!- A bit bummed :(
So this fall I'm starting with my pre-reqs for nursing. Someone of relation is a nurse and talks negative the whole time through my excitement of starting classes. Like he says, "nursing sucks", and let's see who can get their RN first. Like he hates nursing so much yet you want to go on for your RN. And now all of a sudden it seems like he wants to because I am going for my ADN. He's a A#*!@&l anyways so it's actually normal for him. But yeah, I think, If I worked 7 days a week(no joke) I'd probably be hating my job too! And I do understand that it's hard to find a job these days but it is for any career choice! This actually just makes me want to do it TEN TIMES more and I want to do soo well in school that he's like "woah"! A lot of times I think he's just really competitive because he also likes to talk about how much he makes $23 an hour as an LPN. So anyways, I just don't understand people who want to put you down for what you want to do. I guess this just was a little vent. And it helped.- Grades... bad
I haven't started my pre-reqs yet but I know at my school if you take, I think there is three classes, more than once and still don't pass you won't get into the nursing program!- Fall 2010 Class Schedule: Is it too much?
Thanks guys! And no I do not have any children. Two dogs that are like children :) Well I think I will be able to do it! Do you have any tips on taking several classes at once. I'm not very good at organization so I want to get on the ball with that because I know I'm going to be soooo busy now!- Fall 2010 Class Schedule: Is it too much?
So I will be starting as a pre-nursing student this fall and I have a few of the pre-reqs already out of the way due to my other degree. Now I signed up for: Intro. to A&P Intro. to Chemistry Sociology(online) Intro. to Algebra Is this absolutely ridiculous? I REALLY don't want this second degree to take me as long as my first did. I will be working no more than 15 hours a week if that helps. CHOW- DUMB question!! But really...
Thank you and everyone else for the reply's. Yeah because I had no clue. Now one more question when you are doing all of the things you listed does your instructor always have to be present? I'd feel so nervous without them there! But I'm sure after doing it a few times it might not be so nerve racking!- DUMB question!! But really...
YIKES!- DUMB question!! But really...
So when do you actually learn the procedures of things? During clinicals? I guess I'm just confused because I always here people say things like "well this semester during my med/surg clinicals" or "this semester in peds I'm doing". I guess I just thought the classes would be called Pediatrics in nursing etc. Is this a dumb question. I think it is, isn't it.- Does this seem normal for an ADN program?
Oh o.k. Sorry new at this. So when do you actually learn the procedures of things? During clinicals? Now I just have to choose between Stark State and Aultman College..hmmmm Well of course if they choose me!!- I've officially decided...
Hi everyone. I :redbeathe this website!! I was here a few years ago when I was thinking about a career in Nursing although I was in school for something else at the time. So I graduated with an Associates in Early Childhood Education and instead of going back for my Bachelors I've decided that I want to go for what I've always ALWAYS dreamed about. It won't be so tough because now I am settled in our new house and I can work MUCH less than I was doing before. So this way I have more time to study and of course now I won't have to worry about working during clinicals. So I will officially be starting this fall! Only for my pre-nursing classes of course. But I'm soo happy now! Anyhow I am so glad to be back on this site and can't wait for more posts.- trying to decide whether to pursue nursing - less than supportive boyfriend
:rotfl:- trying to decide whether to pursue nursing - less than supportive boyfriend
:yeahthat:- Told to clean room
Using saniwipes?? CRAZY!! When I worked in LTC as a housekeeper we had to have a bucket of sanitizer and a wet rag and wipe everything down, new bed linen, washed divider curtain, walls, windows, etc. And this was for a new admission, let alone MRSA!!!- Curious, whats your job while in school?
And how many hours do you work!? I really want to start pre-reqs in January. So if I do so, I will be working about 30+ hours a week taking morning classes! I am an infant "teacher" in a daycare/preschool center:D. Also, does anyone have any other degrees other than working on our ADN, BSN's, LVN etc. etc.- Does anyone know how long the waitlist is as of now at Stark State??
As many new graduates as there are around here and many more each year, I wonder even if the economy does get better will there really be anywhere to find a job? I haven't yet taken any pre-nursing classes but I was planning on it in Jan. Is it really worth all the hard work to not have a job? I just don't know what to do. I will be graduating from Stark State next Spring for Early Childhood Ed. And I already work in the field and honestly most daycares/preschools have teachers without a degree, so this is why I was considering my other love of a nursing career! I have been going back and forth sooo much it just makes everything more confusing!!- Does anyone know how long the waitlist is as of now at Stark State??
That would be nice except I don't live close to there at all!! And Stark State is only 131.00! I know Aultman is abotu 400.00 something per credit hour! Trust me, Tri-C sounds awesome but unless you live near there $72 dollars plus gas and hours of driving probably isn't worth it. Kent Stark offers a BSN program but I want to go for my ADN first than to a bridge program into my BSN. - A bit bummed :(
