  1. I have 2 groups of Junior nursing students in their Med-Surg rotation clinicals, and am looking for some suggestions on activities/objectives for them to complete during their clinical day as well as their observational experiences. Something along the lines of having to research certain lab values, then report back to the group during post-conference? Or if they are shadowing in the ED or ICU, what are some things they should look for? Thanks!
  2. I am a recent graduate of a direct entry program in nursing, and currently have my RN and my Master's degree in Nursing. I have been looking into getting my NP Post Master's certificate, but will soon be moving out of the area of many of the schools offering NP programs. What are people's experiences or opinion on getting a NP certificate from somewhere online like Kaplan or University of Pheonix? I will be in the Dartmouth region on NH, so a clinical site could Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, a great teaching hospital where I will get a lot of experience. I am just wondering if the stigma of online schools is true or not? Would it be worth it to get a certficate from them or would it be better to get it through an actual university? I am open to thoughts!!!
  3. Oh my gosh its so great to talk to another DEMN!!! I think we are the only ones who really understand what we have to go through at UNH . Thanks for your input, I hope your job search goes well and good luck finishing up the rest of the program!
  4. So I am in the UNH Direct Entry Master's in Nursing program. I have finished my first year in the program, and am now in my clinical immersion experience (intensive full time internship in the hospital). We are eligible to sit for the NCLEX in May, and I am thinking about starting to apply for jobs now. Is it a good idea to start applying, even though I have not taken the NCLEX yet? I guess i'm just wondering if places will even look at my application if i don't have my degree in nursing and have not taken the NCLEX yet (I have my bachelor's in Medical Biology, not Nursing)??? If any one has any input i would appreciate it!!! Share
