Postpartum Nursing Question
Thank you all very much for your suggestions. You are really making my decision to go into nursing easier :). I would like more information about the ADN program though. I was under the assumption that to become an RN you have to at least have a bachlor's degree in nursing. Ideally, I think I would love to work on the postpartum floor and maybe as a long term goal become a nursing manager. I have a teaching and business background and so I think I could see myself in that role. Thanks again for your encouragement :)

Postpartum Nursing Question
I didn't know you could be a nurse practioner on the postpartum floor. As far as responsibilities, how does being a np vs. an rn differ on this floor? And are you currently an rn or np. Thanks for your help.

Postpartum Nursing Question
Hi Everyone, I'm actually thinking of going into nursing once my son starts school in 2-3 yrs and ideally I would like to obtain a job in postpartum nursing. Any recommendations on how I should proceed in regards to education and experience? I currently have a bachelors and masters degree in other subject areas so my plan is to enter a master's entry program in nursing. Also, if you could give me an idea of what your day is like and how flexible your work schedule is I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your help.

Need Advice about Pediatric Nursing
I am considering going into nursing and would love to go into pediatrics. I was hoping to get a general idea of what a typical day is for a pediatric nurse in the hospital and outpatient settings? I would really appreciate it if I could find out the specifics of a pediatric nurse's responsibilities are to the patient and to his or her parents. I would also like to know about the percent of time you spend caring for a patient, paperwork, and other duties like clean-up? I've been trying to find information online about their responsibilities and haven't had much luck. Thank you for your time!

Need advice from FNP or PNP Please
I'm currently trying to decided if a career in nursing would suit me but before I start any prerequisites I would like to hear from some Family NP's or Pediatric NP's. I am interested in this field because I truly want to help others physically and mentally if need be. I'm trying to decide if becoming an PNP or FNP would help me fulfill that desire. l love working with kids considering I use to be a teacher. I've looked up some job responsibilities of FNP's and NP's and is it correct to assume that most of the time you are just giving basic care like check-ups? If you would be able to answer some of my questions below I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! 1. I would like to shadow an NP but don't know how to set that up 2. What are the pros and challenges of your field? 3. What is your work schedule like and is their any flexibility in it? I have a toddler and ideally I wouldn't start school until he does which is in 2-3 yrs. So will I be able to be home with him as an NP once he gets out of school between 3-3:30?

Flexible Work Schedule for Moms
I am considering a career change but one of my main concerns is the work schedule. I would be interested in becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner but I would also like to be home when my son gets home from school. Is this possible in this field? Ideally I would like to work 2-3 days a week and no weekends. Is this too much to ask? Thank you for your time!
