  1. orientation for anderson is tomorrow! i'm not sure which of you will be there but it'll be great to meet all of my classmates. super excited! i know, i haven't been on here in forever, but i've been attempting to pack as much fun stuff into my summer as possible. we've been down to the camper and boat about a dozen times this summer. my daughter is starting to learn how to swim! she's brave enough to jump off of the back of the boat all by herself (with a life vest, of course)! goodnight all...
  2. i was really surprised to see that the anderson orientation is going to last from 9am-2pm when the lafayette one was just 2 hours...maybe they'll be serving us a super nice lunch...lol...but i'm not holding my breath.
  3. Csmith do you have any other ivy tech campus somewhat close to you that you could apply to? That bites that they won't have the nursing program in the spring. I figured they were a big enough campus that they wouldn't have to drop certain programs. I wonder what the story behind this is.
  4. o[color=silver] awesome!! i like to think it is my spot that you were able to take since i got in somewhere closer to home...lol. congrats!
  5. there were probably a lot of people who are from the east side of indy so anderson would be their closest campus. i'm sure there will be people declining positions all over the place since most people got in to multiple campuses. it is definitely worth calling and asking the nursing department. does anyone know the locations where the anderson campus usually does their clinicals?
  6. if you get placed at the anderson campus, then all of your classes should be at the anderson building.
  7. Looks like we'll be classmates! See you in July
  8. I got my acceptance letter today for the the LPN program at the Anderson campus. I'll be calling the Lafayette campus tomorrow and letting them know my spot in their LPN program is now open. So for those of you on the Lafayette wait list, you'll be moving up!
  9. Anyone gotten PN letters from Anderson? If so, what points did you have?
  10. What were your points for the Anderson region?
  11. I assumed they wouldn't be sending out PN letters till next week....and here I am stuck in Zionsville and can't check my mail.
  12. which campus?
  13. lol...i'm watching the boards too. and i also have all of my co-reqs finished with a's. you brought up the same point i did when i found out people were re-taking the pre-reqs multiple times...in nursing you won't have 3 chances to save a patient's life. which campuses are you still waiting for?
  14. that's pretty much my school of thought too...i passed with 100% in both anp classes and barely cracked open my books. that should really count for something that we passed on the first try. still no mail yet today, it'll be about another hour.
  15. i think it would have said it in the denial letter. i'm still waiting to hear from columbus and anderson...the letter from anderson will probably be here this afternoon.
  16. I managed to get about 5 mins in the hot tub before the rain hit. I think that may just relax me enough to get through the night. For anyone who doesn't have one, go to Cal Spas right now....or possibly order one on EBay. Whatever it takes. Lol. Tomorrow is going to be a happy day for a lot of us!
  17. congrats!! which campus are you going to go with?
  18. you and i are in the same boat for columbus...i have a 199 there too. the next few days should be exciting with anderson and columbus letters coming at the same time! hopefully we'll both get some good news to make for a great weekend.
  19. i just called the anderson/muncie region and was told that letters went out yesterday...i'm sure most people will have their letters today. i'm thinking it won't make it to greenfield till at least tomorrow.
  20. i had no idea i wanted to be a nurse until my sister and i took on the full care of our dad while he was terminally ill. i was pregnant with my first child and had uncontrollable morning sickness (that lasted all freaking day). it was the hardest thing i ever went through in my life caring for him, trying to make him better, but knowing there was no hope for recovery. the confusion of it was terrible: being pregnant and expecting your first child is supposed to be the happiest time of your life coupled with the sadness of losing a parent so young which is the worst pain in the world (2nd to losing a child). if only the school could realize that it is experiences like these that made us want to be nurses...i'm sure we would be top of the acceptance list.
  21. just heard from the anderson/muncie region...now they're saying it'll be next week before letters are sent out. oh well. i'm heading to lafayette to drop off my acceptance letter for the lpn program there. if i get in at columbus or anderson, i'll just call and tell lafayette i'm going elsewhere. so for anyone on the lpn alternate in lafayette, there's still a chance you could be taking my spot.
  22. the cutoff for pn in lafayette was something like 198...i want to say the cutoff for their rn was around 206 but i'm not 100% on that. and the cutoff for lawrence lpn was 204/205
  23. are you still waiting to hear from any other campuses? (and i'm sorry if i've already asked you this question before, its hard to keep up with everyone...lol)
  24. is the lafayette lpn program the only lpn you applied to? i'm in the lpn there but if i get in somewhere closer to home, my lpn spot will be opening up (hopefully for you!)...did they tell you where you sat on the alternate list?
  25. at least i'm lucky enough to have some stuff to keep me somewhat busy. my husband is starting to get impatient with my impatience....gaaahhh!
