  1. I used to work in a LTC facility and we had a really bad hail storm. Golf ball size hail was coming down and one of my dementia residents was standing in front of the glass door. I told her to get away from the door and she looked at me and asked why, I told her because it was hailing. It was so funny, she looked at me and made the funniest face and replied " Helen, well invite her in I havent saw her in years!" I couldn't stop laughing it was so cute, how do you try to explain that? lol!
  2. I used to feel the same way that you do! I'm glad that I'm not the only one. I used to work in the hospital as a CNA and when I first started I was a TOTAL wreck. I felt stupid and would get really nervous in the patients room and drop things and fumble around. I always felt like they was looking at me like "what is she doing?" lol! It will get better I PROMISE! Once you get to know the staff and used to things you will be fine. It helps to have a staff member to laugh with about things because they usually tell you silly things they do. And trust me, in a code you would be fine, everything that you are taught comes to you naturally. My first code I thought I would be a nervous wreck but I was actually calm and was just concentrating on getting them breathing again. Good luck to you, you will be just fine!!
  3. Thanks so much! This definately answered my question, I appreciate it very much!!
  4. Hello! I'm a new nurse to the home health setting and am taking care of a young patient in their twenties that has a g-tube with a mickey button. I'm not very familiar with g-tubes and was wondering if someone could answer a question for me:wink2: Is there a certain time frame that I need to wait between administering each med and is it okay to hook her feeding up between meds, she has continuous feedings? Also is it okay to administer her meds in pushing on the syringe if it is done gently? Thanks!!
