  1. That's a lot of Ativan- but for a good cause
  2. Awesome- good luck to you- I also did my preceptorship where I am now working- I'll just wait on my license- they did online verification and have already transferred my job title- woohoo! We did it.
  3. I went to MCC- the thing I got in the mail was sent on the 9th, arrived on the 10th- has that awful picture they took and says - "(name), an applicant for licensure by the Arizona Board of Nursing, HAS PASSED the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses." I would assume that as quick as that was, we should have our licenses early next week- I'm working at Banner Baywood ED- you?
  4. Woohoo!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! We must have tested the same day- I did mine at Pearson in Mesa. Just think- no more review questions- thank God! Oh, and get this- I took the test Thursday and today- BEFORE Pearson had results available, I got a letter from AZ board with my results- so much for paying the $7.95 Chris, RN
  5. I just thank God he was in our ER when it happened so we could, once again, save a life. :chuckle
  6. Situation- guy's in the ED bed being treated for vomiting (emergent vomiting apparently) and his wife is at bedside- He starts throwing up and his wife (who is standing next to the big pink vomit catching device) YELLS to us at the nurse's station- "Aren't you going to DO something?! He's throwing up!" (And yes, he had been treated/medicated). Apparently the act of vomiting is an emergency in and of itself and the average spouse just isn't capable of say, I don't know, handing her husband the emesis basin. *whew* sorry about the rant, but she had a really effective evil eye and I just had to get it off my chest. Maybe I was just stressed today because of the 50 PEOPLE WAITING today when I came on shift, and not an emergency in the bunch...nah, I love this job Feel free to share your humorous/strange stories here (in a general, HIPPA-friendly way of course)- It would make for entertaining reading, I'm sure :roll
  7. For those of you still reading this post and wondering- NCSBN says that if you finish all 265 questions, the computer determines whether or not your performance has been consistently above the passing standard for the previous *60* questions. (This comes from the candidate bulletin)
  8. Seriously- save the freaking out for when you're waiting for your results- no way around that. Although...from what I've read on the board's site and heard from others, if it feels like it was hard, it's because you were qualifiying yourself for the harder questions and probably passed- if it feels easy, you're either a genius or you never quite made it to the mid/high level questions and well.. you'll have to try again . We look forward to reading your follow-up- when you tell us you PASSED Oh yeah, your question-it took about 45 minutes Chris, RN
  9. Update- took it yesterday- pearson still does not show results available today- so I did online verification with AZ board and......... I passed! *whew* I think I'll throw up now- man there has got to be a better way- that was agonizing. Good luck to everyone still waiting and still preparing to test- seeya out there! Chris, RN
  10. This must be a common theme. Just took mine today and had about 82 questions, NO calculations, maybe two drugs, psych, ob, tons of prioritization and a BUTTLOAD of nutrition questions. What?- I'm testing for nutritionist? Doesn't dietary handle that?! :chuckle Oh, and I had a 3.57 GPA, got 99.99% on the HESI, and I felt like crap about this test. I'm like- did it keep going after 75 just to make sure I was that stupid? Arrrrrrrrrrg! This is beyond frustrating. Well, if I did pass for some reason- beware, I'm still likely to give you the orange juice instead of the milk
