  1. Sart45- "Not to be rude.... "BUT I never thought this site was a place to tear others down, especially those who are pursuing the same career as yourself, and looking for a advice from others going through it. To set things straight, so that your eyes stop rolling... I am afforded the opportunity to take 3 classes BECAUSE i was laid off from my previous full time 60+ hrs a week job. I am FORTUNATE enough to have been able to save enough money that has provided me to pay my own way (education, food, healthcare, etc). It baffles me as to why you'd even leave a message if there was nothing of importance that you had to contribute. I wish you luck in your personal endeavors of nursing, but wish that you'd hold back your own pre judgement before putting me into a box of privilege or whatever you call yourself doing.
  2. Thank you for your encouragement!! I agree with you. With the proper motivation, we can do anything! good luck this semester, I'm sure you can do it. we both will :)
  3. Thanks for your advice. I currently dont work full time, only tutor and volunteer. My sciences are not that strong, I just happen to get A's. Im leaning towards just taking 2 classes. Thanks!
  4. hello all! let me first say that i'm pretty new to allnurses.com. however, what i have read on this site has been incredibly helpful, and i look forward to the support and insight that so many of you can share. i'm writing because i am about to embark on a tough spring semester (starting next week).... my schedule includes micro, anatomy, and ochem... i'd like to take all 3 this semester because it would leave me with just physiology in the summer. but!!!! i would like a reality check from any of you who have taken these three at the same time or any of you who can give advice for taking such a strenuous load. i am considering taking just anatomy and ochem (saving micro for the summer)- but i'd like to get as many done as possible. the reason why i ask is because i need to get a's in these courses... i am pursuing a second degree bsn, and previously underperformed in my first bachelors (business management). therefore i'd like to continue keeping my 4.0 gpa in all of my pre req's to make me a stronger candidate. while i understand that all things are possible if u work hard enough at them, i also would like to be realistic about what i am about to take on.. what do you all suggest?? 1) stick to all 3 2) spread out the load, and take physiology and micro in the summer thanks in advance for you advice!!!! bianca
  5. Thanks AccelRN2010or2011- Since I live in California, I'm looking at some of state schools in California. However, I am also interested in several of the out of state schools like UT Austin as well as, UIChicago, Villanova, and Penn State. I am still in the beginning steps of my college search, but I really just want to have a realistic grasp of my chances.
  6. I am going to back school to complete my pre reqs for a second degree BSN or Accel BSN, and I could really use everyones opinion. This summer. I have taken Nutrition, Developmental Psych, and General Psych. I've done great in all 3, but I am nervous for Fall and Spring. As an undergrad, i was a business major but took gen chem and stats ( and did poorly). So this fall, I am taking those two only. I know that I will have A&P 1-2, micro, and possibly ochem as well. Any tips on which classes I should take together, to possibly balance out the more difficult with the "not as challenging" courses? Also, because I am taking certain courses over again... how does a nursing school evaluate that? Do they think poorly of someone who, as an undergrad got C's, but is now able to get ALMOST all A's. (Im much more focused now!) :) Advice is appreciated! Thanks
