  1. Chicookie, you are scaring me! Only joking. Good for you. Bullies seem to seek out the quite ones.
  2. Hi precious1, I write mostly memoir. Good luck Paul
  3. There sometimes seems to be a lot of bullying in nursing or maybe that is just my experience. I do agency back in Ireland and many of the nurses there complain about it in certain hospitals; it seems to be 'old-school' nurses doing most of the bullying. Here is a short article I've written about it; http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1997858/bullying_in_nursing.html?cat=5 Is bullying a common problem everywhere in nursing? Do you think my recommendations to tackle it would be effective? I think that there is a problem defining exactly what bullying is.
  4. Yeah, meditation can be totally life changing.
  5. opps, that should read one stage
  6. Maybe this was a natural to deal with the world for us all at one stag Good luck
  7. I am a nurse who also writes, but I barely make money out of it. I don't usually write about nursing though. I have had one book published and another book is due out next year. I would love to write full-time but it's a tough old business.
  8. I wouldn't agree to do anything unless you feel competent. Speak to your managers about your concerns. Most importantly, document everything. good luck.
  9. You are lucky Leslie. I find that being mindful takes a bit of effort sometimes.
  10. Thank you moggie. If you do a google search for Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction you will find tons of stuff about it. There is even videos on YouTube and Google video. I think meditation is really worth effort and there is a lot of evidence to support its benefits for pain control. Good luck.
  11. I think exercise can be great for stress too.
  12. Hi this is my first post on the forum. I live in Thailand, but nurse in Ireland for two or three months of the year. I am very interested in the topic of nursing and stress and how meditation can ease this. Here is an article I wrote on the subject; http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1989612/the_benefits_of_mindfulness_training.html?cat=5 I wonder do other nurses find meditation eases the stresses of the job? Thanks
