Hello, I am a nurse that has been in the hospital for 3.5 years and am switching over to home care. I just got offered a job and they are offering 35$ per visit and 75 $ for an admit. And 0.35 $/mile for mileage reimbursement. Is this good compared to others? I live in Michigan but just wondering if this is acceptable or should I be asking for more? Thanks Megan

Has anyone worked or heard about the Oakwood hospital in Dearborn? Is it a good hospital and does their pay compare to the rest of the detroit area? Thanks Megan

Hi there, I was wondering if any one has worked at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak? I have an interview coming up. Is the benefits and pay comparable to others around? I heard it was a great hospital to work for. Any other opinions?

I have been a nurse for two years in GR and am making about 24/hr for day shift with 1.50 shift differential. Grand Rapids is one of the lowest paying areas for nurses. Last year when I was applying in Lansing they start at 26/hr and have better shift differentials and benefits. That was with only a year experience. I wouldn't come to GR if looking for better pay. Also, there is not to many positions available here.

Do you know what the pay rate is around there?

I am moving to Novi here soon and was wondering what hospitals are hiring? I am starting my masters program in the winter and would like to find a hospital that pays for as much schooling as possible. Whats the pay rates over there? I have worked on a neuro/trauma unit for two years and I am at only 23.80. Thanks, Megan

I have researched many NP programs, and I am having a hard time deciding which programs to apply for. I like U of M and all that they have to offer but it is really EXPENSIVE. Anyone go to Oakland University for Family NP or have heard anything abou it? Or how about University of Michigan-Flint? Anyone have any suggestions? I know U of M is probably the best, but too expensive. I just wonder how much the reputation of the school plays into getting a job in the future. Thanks! Megan
