Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2016 Cycle
How is the debt to income ratio determined? Of course I submitted my loan info and salary, but how do they come up with the percentage? Is it found somewhere on the portal? Thank you!

Any young african american travel nurses?
I am starting an assignment in HOUSTON 5/27 for 13 weeks and I was wondering if there were any other RNs traveling there and would like to meet up?

Any young african american travel nurses?
Who are you working with for an assignment NurseBoogie?? I've been trying to get to Houston for the past few weeks and it hasn't been so successful. I work in Oncology & it seems a bit more difficult to get something in this specialty over others.

Unfortunately I had to take the test...it isn't completely terrible, but I failed by 1 missed question the first time, and the test cut off on me the second time...3rd time was a charm!

Any young african american travel nurses?
I am traveling with AYA healthcare and I did endorse my license to TX...it took a while bc I am from Illinois so they took forever to verify my Illinois license..also, the TX temp license took me exactly a month to receive when they say you'll receive in about 15 days..temp license lasts four months. Background check and everything is complete so I'm waiting on permanent licensure there.

Traveling to Kansas City, KS
Hello. I am possibly going to begin a travel assignment in Kansas City, KS toward the beginning/middle of February. I was writing to determine if there are any other nurses out there doing the same or thinking of doing the same. I am a first-time traveler and this would be my first assignment. I am having my phone interview tomorrow, and I am anxious, nervous, and excited! Please let me know your thoughts. :)

Any young african american travel nurses?
I am a young 23yo AA female and I currently have 8mo RN experience out of Chicago on a Hematology/Oncology/Stem Cell Transplant unit. I just took my chemo class so that I can be certified to give Chemotherapy and Biotherapy. I am interested in traveling to NY, CA, FL, possibly TX. My yr will be up in August and I just began to strongly consider traveling starting this yr. The lease to my apt is up at the same time...If I decided to just stay here, it wouldn't be until about Aug 2014 that I would consider a travel assignment again just because I wouldn't want to have an apt here, while I'm living somewhere else. I know someone who traveled after a yr and loves it. I'm just nervous and don't know if I'll ever be sure of when I'm ready!

New Grad Nurse in Hem/Onc, Stem Cell Transplant
eah9r3 did your friend share anything about her orientation to you? i have been calling the manager with no return call. i don't start orientation until aug. 20, so maybe i'm too early? do you know if she felt prepared following her unit orientation? i heard orientation on the unit is shortened to save $$. a couple people i graduated with have gotten a job there on l&d and postpartum and said their orientation would be like this.

New Grad Nurse in Hem/Onc, Stem Cell Transplant
Hi all, I was just hired at a prestigious hospital in Chicago as a New Grad Nurse in Hem/Onc, Stem Cell Transplant Unit!! They called the day after I interviewed & I'm still in shock!!! If any other new RNs are starting in this area, let's get together on this thread to talk! Experienced RNs, what has been your experience on a Stem Cell Transplant Unit?? I am currently a CNA on an Oncology unit for the past 14 months, so I have some experience here.

I was called today to set up an interview with Mayo for later this month. Does anyone know specifics? Like, how is the interview structured? Also, I'm coming from about 6 hrs away, do they pay your hotel expenses?

SAD mindset of "future nurses" *sigh*
This is a 21 y.o. female with a child & I would think that she could be more mature about the things she says. I just think it's wrong that some people don't take the time to realize what's expected of them when they hit nursing school. I know she is now doing her pre-reqs for nursing school.. I agree with the above poster, I am not perfect, none of us are. I'm not attempting to shoot down her character, but I was sooooo upset upon seeing this status on Facebook & decided to inform her of what nursing school really is. She just really thought that she could "pick" peds and let that be what she wants to do. Instead of learning the role of the CNA, she decided to shoot down the whole job. I am a CNA and will be graduating with a BSN this May. I really care about my patients & some have to be cleaned because Lord knows they can't do it themselves. I'm sure that many of them wish they COULD do it themselves. I really hope she gains some perspective...I had a situation at work the other day with some nurses that left a patient soiled because they wanted me to do it, God forbid they were late to the time clock...but that's another story

SAD mindset of "future nurses" *sigh*
this is what i saw someone who wishes to only be a "peds" nurse posted....i let her know that in nursing school, you do everything & peds is only a small portion of clinical.... " dam...i question myself???do i really wanna wipe ass everyday,,??a grown stank booty ass elderly at that~hmmmmmm" i feel sorry for those in her care in the future..
