Hi, I am so glad someone replied. Congratulations on getting in!!They said they will start posting updates on the alternates list starting April 19th. They also said the alternates were to get back to them about whether or not they wanted to be on the list by April 4th. I got back to them the same day I got the email. I live about an hour and half from Rohnert Park but I am more than happy to commute. I want to be in this program so bad. I hope I can get off the alternates list. Waiting is so hard. =]

Sonoma State University FNP Program
Hi, Has anyone applied for or been waitlisted for the Sonoma State FNP Program? I applied for their Fall of 2012 program and received news that I am number 6 on their alternate/waitlist. I am quite disappointed but would like to know my odds of getting in. I believe they accept 40-45ish people. Thank you!

How did you do? Sorry it took me back to reply to these posts. I finally went back to work! Remember when you take 265 questions it means that you were in the game the entire time and just confusing the crap out of the computer! I hope it all went well!!

Thank you! I basically restudied from scratch as if I have not studied before. I made myself take 300 questions a day. Not in a row but total. I studied the Hurst book and borrowed a CD from my friend. It's called Prentice Hall Nursing NCLEX-RN Test Prep. I gave myself breaks, when I felt I was getting tired or nothing was sinking in I stopped. I studied everyday from 8-7 with an hour break every couple of hours. I took notes, I wrote what down what questions I got wrong when I was practicing. It's OK if you take the whole test again it just means that you were in the game. Even if the way i studied doesn't work for you, you will find a way and WHEN you pass the next time it will all be worth it! I wish you the best!

On July 15th I failed the NCLEX at 260. I had to take a leave of absence from my job because my IP was terminated. I was a total wreck. But with the help of God and my friends I studied until the day of the exam which was on Monday. I once again took all 265 questions, totally devastated (cried, bawled and moped around). However, I told myself it was OK and that I was going to be OK and also that GOD was going to help me be OK. So this morning at 545am I got a call from one of my best girl friends and she told me I PASSED!!! :wink2: Basically I want everyone to know that it is going to be OK! The test doesn't define you or what type of nurse you are going to be. The best nurses I've come across has taken the test at least twice! So don't be too down on yourself. GOD will take care of you in the end.

Stopped at 260...
So after taking two review courses and spending a few weeks studying for the boards (didn't even leave the house, only to grocery shop or get the mail). Before I took the test I made sure to take the practice NCLEX to make sure that I am ready to take the test. The instructor said if I got more right than wrong than I am good to go which I did. I took my NCLEX today at 8am. I got 260 questions before it shut off. Does it mean I failed?? Does that I mean I did so badly that they didn't bother giving me the last 5 questions because there was no point???? The questions were so hard I felt like puking at the end when the computer shut off. My head was spinning, my heart was racing and I felt like failed miserably. After the test, I smiled at the nice lady who escorted me out, thanked the receptionist, put on my sunglasses and cried all the way to the car. I keep thinking if I fail, I'll lose my job, I'll be such a disappointment and will be so embarrassed. I just graduated, I am suppose to be happy to be out of school but now I feel horrible. I can't even talk or vent to anyone because I didn't tell anyone I took the test. Not only that but now I have to wait two days to find out that I failed... Sad and scared
